The Chase and The Catch by AF Henley

Blurb

AF Henley_The Chase and The Catch CoverAfter one of his fans committed suicide, John lost everything: lover, confidence, drive. When he is given a chance to get back on his feet, he is happy to take it—even if it’s just writing an actor’s biography. It might not be romance, or even fiction, but it’s something, and there are worse people to work for than the charming, successful Parker Chase.

That doesn’t mean working for Parker is easy, however. A staunch supporter of living for the moment, Parker goes against everything John believes in. He feels out of place in every moment of Parker’s Hollywood life, stuck in a game of wits that at times seems almost contrived…

AF Henley ❤

Author Bio: Henley was born with a full-blown passion for run-on sentences, a zealous indulgence in all words descriptive, and the endearing tendency to overuse punctuation. Since the early years Henley has been an enthusiastic writer, from the first few I-love-my-dog stories to the current leap into erotica.

A self-professed Google genius, Henley lives for the hours spent digging through the Internet for ‘research purposes’ which, more often than not, lead seven thousand miles away from first intentions but bring Henley to new discoveries and ideas that, once seeded, tend to flourish.

Henley has been proudly working with LT3 since 2012, and has been writing like mad ever since—an indentured servant to the belief that romance and true love can mend the most broken soul. Even when presented in prose.

Excerpt is definitely NSFW,   Now… let’s end this tour with some fireworks, shall we?

The Chase and The Catch by AF Henley

Excerpt

Parker’s smile faded, and Parker swallowed hard enough that John could watch the process travel through Parker’s throat. He envied Parker the ability. His own throat was dry, tight, and all but useless as Parker peeled wet nylon off wet skin with the concentration of a surgeon.

Okay, John told himself. Yes, he’d been telling Parker to back the hell off. Yes, he’d been insistent that he wasn’t into sex for sex’s sake. No, it probably wasn’t going to be emotionally fulfilling, or help him find the next step on the journey towards romantic involvement. But if the way that Parker was looking at his cock was any indication, it was going to be damn good. Maybe that was okay. Maybe it didn’t have to be anything more than that. Maybe Parker was right.

He reached for Parker’s face, touched Parker’s mouth, and teased Parker’s lower lip with a touch that would be way too light to do anything but tickle.

“Like that?” Parker asked, and John could only assume Parker was asking if John liked his mouth. Which would be a ridiculous question. Who wouldn’t? Perfect fucking shape and design. Perfectly fucking supple and smooth. John nodded, doing his best not to appear as slow and captivated as he felt.

“You want me to suck you?”

John looked up from Parker’s mouth, almost ashamed to have been caught looking. Was that the vibe he was giving off? Because, yes… of course… sure. But that’s not what John had been fascinated with in the least. He shook his head. He swallowed to wet his throat and ease speech. “I want you to kiss me again.”

Something that bordered on confusion but danced with intrigue fell across Parker’s expression. Parker didn’t argue, though, nor did he deny John’s request. Parker straightened his spine, John met Parker’s movement, and while their mouths found each other’s, Parker’s palm found John’s cock. Even though the kiss was calm, sweet even, once again John struggled to take in enough oxygen. A new touch was always so damn alluring: the way the fingers tried to learn curves and length, the way the palm tested the slide of skin, the way fingernails searched boundaries between accepted tease and over-sensitivity. John’s eyelids fell closed, his lips parted to deepen the kiss between them, and the heat in his core grew to dizzying levels. Yep. Okay. This was going to be just fine, indeed.

Parker’s fingertips landed on John’s cheek, and John opened his eyes. Now that was a nice look right there; Parker’s eyes wandering John’s face, following the trail laid by Parker’s fingers as they fanned over John’s cheek and wrapped John’s jaw. If it wasn’t fascination—a noun that John wouldn’t dare to use in correlation to someone of Parker’s calibre—then it was at least something akin to approval.

When Parker noticed John’s gaze on him, he startled, then caught himself. “I don’t know if that’s sun on your face or…”

“Pale. Yeah. Sorry.” John didn’t bother with embarrassment. Things were too hot, too good, to worry about minor issues like shame. “I flush. When I… you know… get turned on.”

Parker ran the pad of his thumb under John’s cheekbone. “It’s fucking sexy.”

John huffed a laugh that sounded more like a gasp. “Thank you?”

Without lowering his eyes, Parker began to stroke John’s cock in a firm and steady grip instead of merely playing. John moved towards him, sealed their mouths together again, and thrilled in silence at the way Parker’s lids fell, lips parted, and a small growl escaped his throat. It only lasted a lone second, though. As if pulling himself out of chains, Parker yanked his head back. “No more kissing.”

John silently thanked the gods of concrete finishes for smooth surfaces when his bare ass was dragged closer to the edge of the pool. Both his palms slapped the edge beside him and he flashed a ‘what the fuck’ at Parker with his eyes.

“Lean back,” Parker ordered.

“What happ—”

“Lean back,” Parker repeated, and even though the demand was repeated as a clipped stipulation, Parker’s grip softened. He fell back to the enticing slide he’d been orchestrating alongside the kiss, and when John didn’t move, Parker reached for John’s wrist and gently pushed it into place. “Please. It’s fine. I’m sorry. Lean back. I just… I just want to taste you. In other ways.”

The bubble that had been growing in John’s head and chest began to deflate, and with it, desire and confidence as well. The appealing look in Parker’s eyes, that odd mix of uncertainty and interest, was gone. The familiar hardness, the edge, was back in its place, even if it was coloured with an aura of regret.

Parker closed his eyes, shook his head, and didn’t bother to stop John when John pulled back.

“This is a mistake,” John said quietly. He got his feet under him, rose, and walked to the lounge, nudging The Cat aside so he could grab one of the towels she’d perched on. She eyed him, be it with admonishment to the preceding shenanigans or approval for his re-evaluation of consequences; cat speak was just so hard to understand sometimes. John wound the towel around his waist, and cast a glance over his shoulder before he walked away.

  1. You’re a tease, Good Sir. Talented tease, but a tease nonetheless, and I’m not quite sure if I love you for it… Okay, who am I kidding. I do love you for it, but it’s one of those pleasures that is best served up with a mind blowing…
