Well, maybe that’s what he tells himself as he rolls up to his nice new house, in the nice little neighborhood, in a town where nobody knows his name.
He’s surrounded by friendly neighbors and a white picket fence. The ugly pink carpet might drive him to insanity, and he can’t stop wondering where the old lady who lived there before him died—but it’s nice.
And if he puts his mind to it, he can be anything—or anyone—he wants to be. He can be nice too.
At least, he thinks he can until he lays eyes on his next-door neighbor.
Luke Boucher is nice.
And quiet.
And perfect.
It doesn’t take long for Remy to insinuate himself into Luke’s life. A camera here, a break-in there. – It’s not really stalking if you love someone, is it? –
But when Remy’s plan to make a good impression goes to hell, he ends up over his head in more ways than one. Then things aren’t quite so nice anymore. – It’s not really murder if you love someone, is it? –
Loving your neighbor isn’t so easy when you’re the devil next door.
I honestly loved this book so much – I sat most of the time with my mouth open like what did I just read, and most of the time frustrated because I wanted to know more.
Honestly because it’s so mind melting I don’t want to say much about the book other than to read it – Each of the mains was well written, the story wove together so wonderfully!!!!!
Was it dark? Somewhat – I don’t think it’d be too much for the average MM reader to enjoy – slightly messed up yes but not anything too severe.
I did think the ending should have been different – I had an image in my head of what I wanted to happen and it didn’t – granted, I kind of knew where the book was headed so I should have guessed it’s just sad I didn’t get the ending I wanted !
Honestly a must read, enjoyable and short.. and twisted.
Cover Art by Natasha Snow. It honestly did nothing for me, I don’t know if I found it relevant to the book at all ,.. but it is enticing
At over 50, I am ruled by my terriers, my gardens, and my projects. A knack for grubbing about in the woods, making mud pies, and tending to the injured worms, bugs, and occasional bird and turtle growing up eventually led me to working for the Parks.
I was a park Naturalist for over 20 years, and observing Nature and her cycles still occupy my hours. From the arrival of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the Spring to the first call of the Snow Geese heading south in the Fall, I am entranced by the seasons. For more about me see my bio on my blog.
