A MelanieM Review:Tales of Bryant (Tales Of Bryant #1) by V.L. Locey

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Four Seasons. Two Men. One Love.

For struggling film student Isamu Taylor, life’s refrain is about to change from boring documentary about a passionless delivery boy to a blazing and wildly erotic love story.

After spending weeks admiring handsome but older Manhattan executive Brian Gilles while delivering brioche to him in Bryant Park, the man of his lusty dreams has just expressed a desire to get to know Isamu better. A night on the town is just the beginning of a whirlwind romance that will span not only four seasons but countless years.

Amid the beauty and charm of Bryant Park, New York City, two men are about to discover that love knows no age or economic boundaries. This is a collection of four short stories starring these two amazing men, their one sublime love, and the park where it all started.

Tales of Bryant (Tales Of Bryant #1) by V.L. Locey is a sweet contemporary love story told by the seasons, sectioned off starting in the season where rich handsome executive Brian Gilles asked out (finally) film student Isamu Taylor in Bryant Park in NYC.  Then it follows them through the seasons of their blossoming and sometimes struggling relationship, as they adjust to each other and the differences in their economic status, their intense schedules, commitments or even perceived lack thereof.

And as they get to know each other and explore their histories and test their boundaries, we are pulled intimately into their lives and romance.  Isamu is especially easy to connect with, open, passionate about film and Brian, we become engaged on his journey, feel for him in his endeavors to make his achievements on his own, without help from Brian.  And its cost.

The characterizations are terrific, the romance engaging, and the ending heartwarming.  Really, bring out the hankies!

There is a followup to this one and I’m already on my way.

If you love a sweet, heartwarming romance, I definitely recommend Tales of Bryant (Tales Of Bryant #1) by V.L. Locey.  It’s a quick read, the story flows easily and leaves you smiling!  Just lovely.

Cover Design: Sloan J Designs. Unfortunately, that cover is a bit of a disconnect.  Isamu is slim, with dyed hair, and clothes that shout student filmmaker.  Anyone look like that on the cover?  Uh no.

Nine Small Sips

By Scattered Thoughts

At over 50, I am ruled by my terriers, my gardens, and my projects. A knack for grubbing about in the woods, making mud pies, and tending to the injured worms, bugs, and occasional bird and turtle growing up eventually led me to working for the Parks. I was a park Naturalist for over 20 years, and observing Nature and her cycles still occupy my hours. From the arrival of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the Spring to the first call of the Snow Geese heading south in the Fall, I am entranced by the seasons. For more about me see my bio on my blog.
