Protection has its price, but so do fantasies…

Fantasy Week happens twice a year at Crave, and it’s always a big hit—a way to live out your wildest fantasy in a safe, sane, and consensual manner.

But when Cade comes in with his Fantasy Week invitation, he’s not happy about it. He’s stoic as hell and his preferences don’t seem to match his fantasy at all…and yet, despite that, he enjoys himself with Tegan and Vic. At least at first.

When it becomes glaringly apparent that the fantasy isn’t something Cade’s comfortable with, it’s confusing for the men he’s been paired with, and Tegan and Vic put a stop to the scene immediately.

What Cade doesn’t know is that Tegan and Vic are not only co-owners of Crave, but they’re also owners of a mercenary group, Gray Ops, that’s run out of Crave. They’ve also been circling each other for years… but nothing sparks until their session with Cade.

What happened in Room 4 is something none of the men can forget…but it’s got nothing to do with a fantasy and everything to do with blackmail. Can Tegan and Vic help Cade keep his secrets, while keeping all of them safe at the same time? Because the threatening to spill out aren’t only Cade’s…

*This series is set in the MEN OF HONOR world, in the bar called Crave from Bound By Honor

Excerpt

Just when you thought you’d gotten away from this shit, you’re back in.

Oz stopped in front of the door marked Room 4 and handed Cade his card. “Give this to the first man you see inside the room—that’s when your fantasy starts, so now’s the time for any last-minute questions or concerns.”

“I just need to do this.” His heart thudded in his chest. He took a long gulp of water, and Oz put a hand on his arm.

“Hey, it’s normal to be nervous, but this is supposed to be fun. Freeing. Nothing happens that you don’t want. Remember, red and yellow, okay?”

Right—fun and freeing. Cade wanted to tell him that this was an obligation for someone he loved, because of someone he hated who, for all he knew, might show up behind this door…but instead, he simply nodded, handed off his glass…and walked inside.

The door closed behind him as he waited for his eyes to adjust to the low lighting in the room. Later, he’d notice the bed in the corner, the bench, and various BDSM tools, but his immediate focus couldn’t help but narrow, with a laserlike intensity, on a man who took up all the space in the room.

That force of nature stood casually, leaning against the wall, his gaze bent on exposing and seducing and Jesus, he was goddamned beautiful in that hot, badass kind of way with short, spiked, almost white-blond hair that made him look fierce. He was taller than Cade and broader, but his body was honed from whatever work he did for a living and not simply gym muscles. Cade could definitely tell the difference. This man was capable.

This man would break him. And he’d have fun doing it.

Cade shifted, not sure what to do next. Finally, he held out the card and said, “Hey, I’m Cade.” Like maybe the guy didn’t know who he was, or why he was here.

The man’s dark-blue eyes caught him, held him in place. “Hey, I’m the one who’s going to make you scream.”

His voice was a deep drawl that ran like warm honey down Cade’s spine. He fought a shudder and lost, and the man graced him with a wicked smile.

Man up. Get it over with. Cade straightened his spine and waited for the order.

It came far too quickly.

“Strip. Now. There’s no reason to keep your clothes on for what you’re here to do.”

Meeting the family is challenging for every new couple. But for Will and Patrick, the awkward family moments only grow more hilarious – and painful – when they must hide the truth of their predicament from the people they care about most. Episode 3: Will & Patrick Do the Holidays

A couple’s first holiday season is always a special time. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve are magical when you’re in love. Too bad Will and Patrick’s marriage is a sham and they’re only faking their affection for each other. Or are they? Sparks fly in this episode of the Wake Up Married serial. Will the sexual tension between Will and Patrick finally explode in a needy night of passion? Or will they continue to deny their feelings?

Author of the bestselling book Smoky Mountain Dreams and the fan favorite Training Season, Leta Blake’s educational and professional background is in psychology and finance, respectively. However, her passion has always been for writing. She enjoys crafting romance stories and exploring the psyches of made up people. A Stella Release Day Review: Larry Boots, Exterminator by John Inman

RATING 5 out of 5 stars

Kenny Long is living a new life. Blinded in an accident, he has taken control of his unexpected reality the best way he can, and it’s working out better than he hoped.

Of course Larry Boots doesn’t know any of that. All he sees is a beautiful man sitting on a park bench.

Larry has a few problems of his own: his mother. His job. The lack of romance in his life.

His job. In the course of that job, Larry strikes up a friendship with Kenny. The next thing he knows, he’s so head-over-heels in love, even his mother doesn’t seem so bad. Of course his career is still a problem, but he’s working on that. Hopefully he’ll have the problem resolved before the man he’s being paid to murder succeeds in murdering him first.

And before the man he loves finds out he’s a cold-blooded killer.

As everything John Inman writes, this new story was a huge winner to me. I fell so easily into the reading I finished it too soon. Sure, it dealt with some heavy themes, Kerry’s blindness, Larry job as a hitman (don’t call him that!), all the people hurt by the criminals Larry had to take care of. A couple of times my heart hurt a lot, nonetheless the novel had a light tone, in the relationship between the MCs, but especially when Larry’s mum was involved. She was unbelievable funny and so over the top, I laughed out loud.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like Larry Boots,Exterminator so much, because I usually prefer when both Mcs have their own POV, here I got just Larry’s. And it was enough. Through his words and thoughts, I was able to see all the fears Kenny had about his disability and about the beginning of something real and powerful with the other man. I so wanted to hug him and support his feelings.

If you like a story with all of these elements, plus some action, mystery, well written, with amazing characters, you can’t miss this new release by John Inman.

The cover art by Kanaxa is different and very fitting, I love it

Spending time in the Poconos with his family was the last thing Dane Forrester wanted to do over the summer. He had dreams of spending his last break touring Europe and gathering story ideas for his upcoming creative writing classes before heading to college. Maybe even finding that elusive first love in a small café in Paris, or along the Rhine, or even in a sultry villa in Italy. But no, he was stuck at the Silver Fir Lodge with his family where his dreams of romance and passion would wither and die a slow painful death, or so he imagined.

When all seemed lost, the budding wordsmith is saved—in more than one sense—by Khalid Novak, a lifeguard at the lodge’s pool. Khalid is two years older, a bit more sophisticated, and the most incredibly alluring thing Dane has ever seen. The two young men find themselves joyously wound in a searing romance that teaches Dane that love can be wildly intense yet fleeting so one should revel in it when the discovery is made.

Can this summer romance survive the chill of autumn as well as the winds of time?

USA Today Bestselling Author V.L. Locey – Penning LGBT hockey romance that skates into sinful pleasures.

V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, yoga, belly laughs, walking, reading and writing lusty tales, Greek mythology, Torchwood and Dr. Who, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.) She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, a pair of geese, far too many chickens, and two steers.

When not writing spicy romances, she enjoys spending her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in one hand and a steamy romance novel in the other.

An Alisa Review : The Best-Laid Plans (Plans #2) by Addison Albright

Rating:  4 stars out of 5

A death that wasn’t what it seemed … A kidnapping that isn’t what it seems … Time is running out.

The morning after his wedding night, Prince Marcelo thought he’d be embarking on a journey to his own personal fairytale happily ever after with his husband Efren, the crown prince of Zioneven. But when news arrives indicating his sister’s death wasn’t as accidental as previously thought, that journey becomes fraught with danger.

Enmeshed in political intrigue, death, and a kidnapping that might not be what it seems, will Efren untangle the web of misleading clues in time to save the naïve young man he’s already come to admire? Or will Marcelo dig deep to discover a previously untapped inner strength and determination to facilitate his own survival?

I wished for more of story between Marcelo and Efren when I read The Contingency Plan and it was delivered with this book.  They are currently on their way back to Efren’s home but get quite the detour.

I am still so glad the Marcelo is getting the opportunity to actually live his life with Efren and gets the chance to look towards his future and what he wants to accomplish.  Efren really is sweet with Marcelo and no matter how much he doesn’t really want emotions to get in the way you can quickly see that he is quickly starting to care for Marcelo.  It was great to see Marcelo stand up for himself survive when he was in danger.

The cover art by Written Ink Designs is nice and I like the visual of Marcelo.

A Melanie Review: Prescription for Love (Road to Blissville #7) by Aimee Nicole Walker

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

What should’ve been an ordinary emergency call turned out to be something extraordinary.

Wanting to distance himself from his toxic parents, Trent Love moved to the quaint town of Blissville to begin a new life. What he finds is blazing chemistry with a hunky fireman who breathes new life into him.

Fearing they’re too different, Tucker attempts to extinguish the spark between them before it can ignite. How could a simple man like him compete with Trent’s life of wealth and privilege? Knowing you shouldn’t want something doesn’t make it go away, and Tucker’s desire for Trent continues to smolder.

Unwilling to accept their relationship is dead on arrival, Trent puts his resuscitation skills to good use. All he wants is a chance to prove he values Tucker’s wealth of character over meaningless material things. What do you get when you mix fire and oxygen: a five-alarm fire or a prescription for love?

Trent’s commitment to freeing himself from poisonous ties kindles a chain of events that have devastating consequences for both men. Is a relationship forged in fire strong enough to overcome these obstacles or is their love doomed to be just another bitter pill to swallow?

When we last saw these two men in the novel Inside Out where they were secondary characters, their date had gone horribly wrong and they parted on the worst of terms, with Trent leaving for a stint in Doctors without Borders.

Now in Prescription for Love (Road to Blissville #7) by Aimee Nicole Walker, Trent Love is back in Blissville ready to pick up his life at the hospital and in Blissville, that includes putting Tucker back into his life too.  Tucker, meanwhile has had lots of time to think about the way they parted and he has his share of regrets.  He can’t get the thought of Trent out of his system and he’s lonely.  Now Trent is back and Grammie knows exactly how to push Tuck’s buttoms or give him a shove in Trent’s direction.

Blissville has become one of my favorite literary destinations thanks to the characters and unique small town flavor author Aimee Nicole Walker has imbued Blissville with.  It oozes with charm, quirky characters, and so much warmth, that if it was real, I’d move there in a heartbeat!  Over the course of now seven stories, I know the cafe, dinners, veterinarians, fireman, hairdressers, so much of what makes Blissville life.  That means couples too.

Now each novel is touted as a standalone but while you can read them as such, the beginnings of each story rests in the previous novel, as it does with this one. So why would you?

The characters are easy to connect with and well developed.  The writing is wonderful, and the plot smooth and flows quickly.  Not too much angst here.  Just men reconnecting, trying to mesh schedules, lives, and a disparity in economic society back history that matters to no one except Trent’s snobbish parents.  Yes cue the drama.

With the exception of Trent’s parents, all the other cast of characters are amazing.  Love the other fireman and their wives, Grammie of course, that goes without saying, the couples from the previous stories that always pop up, and sisters and their husbands and adorable children.  Really, I could stay happily entwined in the lives of the people of Blissville for ages.

I love this series and you will too if you’re a fan of contemporary romance.  You could pick up this book as a standalone but why skip the wealth that  awaid you with the entire series?  I have listed them all below for your reading pleasure. I highly recommend them all.

The cover by Jay Aheer is perfect.  Yes, that’s Trent.  Love it.

Chapter 3: …Oft Go Awry

Efren

Efren blinked rapidly as he came awake with a start. He stared into the darkness and mentally shook the cobwebs from his mind. What had awoken him? Marcelo lay softly breathing in his arms, as relaxed and peaceful as only the innocent can truly be.

Around him, the night was silent. Too silent? He strained to hear the patrols rustling through the grasses, or the faint trills of their signals to each other.

A breeze swirled through the branches of the trees in the distance, rippling the leaves. Crickets chirped, apparently unconcerned about whatever either was or wasn’t going on in the meadow.

And footsteps. Quiet, approaching footsteps. It must be time for the shift change. That’s what had awoken him. Efren relaxed and nestled Marcelo tighter against him. One at a time, the guards would come in and wake their replacements.

Except—Efren tensed, then maneuvered his arm out from under Marcelo’s head and eased himself from under the blankets—the footsteps, furtively stopping and restarting, were approaching from multiple directions.

Efren shivered as goosebumps rose on his naked skin in the chilled night air and soundlessly slipped his broadsword and knife from their leather scabbard. He glanced at Marcelo, still sleeping, although less serenely with the sudden loss of the warm body next to him.

Guilt pinged his core as he shook off a strong desire to waken and forewarn Marcelo, but he pushed it down. Marcelo, completely untrained in warfare, would be safer in here. He seemed a heavy sleeper, likely incorporating outside noises into his dreams, unused to a need to be readily alert. He might even doze through the skirmish.

Or was that just wishful thinking? Because there’d be no hope that Marcelo could escape unseen, if it came to that.

Surely it would be better for such an innocent to be killed in his sleep, or with scarcely a brief moment of shock beforehand than to spend minutes quaking in terror, unable to defend himself.

Efren shook off his doubts and quickly pushed out the weighty flap, sword raised ready, and opened his mouth to yell an alert to awaken any of his warriors who hadn’t already sensed the looming danger, same as he had. But the breath he drew to strengthen his voice instead choked him.

He’d never before smelled these fumes, but the pungent, wet-dog odor had been described to him. The material of their tents was heavily treated to keep the toxin producing that odor from permeating the walls and closed flaps.

Icy apprehension slithered across Efren’s skin before settling in the pit of his gut. This was a completely unexpected development. The alchemists from the kingdom of Proye who’d developed this toxin—and unfailingly guarded the recipe—called it “Knockout.”

As Efren’s sword arm dropped, followed swiftly by his eyes rolling back in his head and his body slumping in a boneless crumple, a corner of his brain recognized how fittingly it was named, and hoped that enough of it had entered the tent through the briefly opened flap that Marcelo would succumb before Proye agents executed whatever they had planned. They’d been married for less than two days, and already he’d failed his innocent, young husband.

Excerpt

It was a place created for a hunter. Big, sprawling and dirty—victims roaming the streets unaware of their status as prey. They all felt they were safe from the monsters because they were all easily spotted, but they knew nothing about my kind. We were just an abstract concept on some true crime show they watched in the middle of the night—evil reduced to caricature. My reputation was above reproach, but I was the most prolific killer of my kind.

In moments of respite where I hid away in my cabin, I’d analyzed when I’d become broken. I believed my sociopathy was a result of conception. Maybe something as damaged as I shouldn’t have survived to birth. A shell without a soul. I’d attempted suicide a time or two, and I bore the marks from years of self-harm. I’d hoped to feel something—pain proved you were alive—and yet the more I cut and burned, it became nothing more than a minor inconvenience—wounds to heal.

I closed my eyes, drew oxygen in through my nose and pushed it slowly past my lips, repeated until I opened my eyes. As with any normal person ending work, I gathered up files and my laptop, stowing them inside my satchel briefcase. Everything in my life was routine and repetition, nothing deviated. I arrived at my office at six in the morning and promptly left at six at night. Meetings were scheduled as needed. I appeared in court. I was successful at my chosen cover, but as with all aspects of my existence, they were disguises.

An Alisa Release Day Review: Larry Boots, Exterminator by John Inman

Rating:  4 stars out of 5

This was an entertaining story.  I believe the last book I read by this author was more serious but this one has a playful tone throughout the whole thing, even when Larry is on the job which I appreciated and I think worked perfect for this book.

These two meet by chance but don’t let that stand in their way, especially Larry.  I loved their connection from the beginning and even when Kenny finds out the truth about Larry it doesn’t really deter him.

We saw this story through Larry’s eyes which is where the playful tone comes from but he is observant which allows us to read the other characters a bit better.  I hated how hesitant Kenny was and how sure that no one would want him long term but I felt Larry did an amazing job of showing him and standing by him even when Kenny tried to push him away.

The cover art by Kanaxa is great, I love the visual of where Larry and Kenny met.

A Barb the Zany Old Lady Review: Prescription for Love (Road to Blissville #7) by Aimee Nicole Walker

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Aimee Nicole Walker always creates interesting, gorgeous, sweet men who spend a lot of time between the sheets. Warning: personal fans are required. Proceed with caution. LOL

When Trent Love comes back from a stint with Doctors Without Borders, the sexy pediatrician is ready to take up where he left off flirting with the big, handsome fireman, Tucker Garrison. Not knowing where the good doctor went after their initial dinner date left Tucker feeling down and lost. He hadn’t cared for the doctor’s choice of restaurant. It was too upper class and pretentious and led Tucker to believe the doc was invested only in material wealth and not in good old middle-class values.

But he was wrong, and when Trent comes back, he sets out to prove it. That turns out to be easy as the two actually get along quite well. In fact, it’s pretty evident to all who know them, including Tucker’s outrageous Grammie, who raised him, that these two belong together. And they seem well on their way to forever when Trent’s obnoxious, petty parents stick their noses where they don’t belong and inadvertently discover something that turns Tucker’s world upside down.

One of the only lifelines he allows himself once the shock wears off is his connection to his hearthis doc, always there with a helping hand. The story is sweet with the requisite amount of angst and opposition, but overall, it’s fun and humorous and a lighthearted MM romance. A few earlier Blissville characters weave in and out of the story, but this can certainly be read as a standalone (as I have done) without any confusion.

The cover by Jay Aheer features a gorgeous man in medical scrubs, his shirt held in one hand to show off ripped abs. Very attention-getting.
