What an excellent read! Iām always happy when Sherwood returns to some of my favorite universes and characters. So when I see a crossover story, Iām thrilled.
Adopt a Vampire (a Ross Young & Unholy Trifecta Crossover ) by AJ Sherwood is an entertaining and highly recommended read, especially if youāre a fan of both series like me.
Vampire Jessie Hunt is clueless about vampire life, just trying to get by not hunting or hurting anyone. Itās not going well for him. Until he runs into the local pack of werewolves who decides heās in need of some serious care and support.
And itās Alpha Barrett Walker sees in Jesse something more.
This is a delightful, sweet and funny crossover romance. Full of great new characters and old faces stopping in as support and laughter.
I absolutely love this , and if youāre a fan of these series and the author, you will too.
Newly turned vampire Jesse Hunt has been spotted by two werewolves! Should he:
-Run
-Fight
-Ask for noms
Barrett Walker, alpha of the local pack, has two options upon meeting the starving but sweet Jesse! Should he:
-Hand him over to the local vampire clan
-Adopt him
Barrettās in favor of adoption but can adoption include smexy bite bite times too?

Draken the Rules is a sweet, sexy paranormal novella in Arden Steeleās long running fated mates Blackhaven Manor universe.
Itās a quick read and I really enjoyed the characters, especially as Arden added another dragon shifter to the universe who a total powerhouse!
Up until now, we had only the original dragon siblings acknowledged and now we know that there are others out there. Fantastic expansion of this series and universe. Also intriguing little toy , a fabulous tiny dragon that used blood magic to animate it. Was it sentient or not? Could have used an entire story on it alone.
Minor drama that was easily removed but the couple was adorable and Itri Lockwood , Storm dragon shifter , morally grey magic item dealer needs a series. Especially now that his mate has decided to work with him.
For Arlo Eichen, the annual Heritage Festival is less of a beloved tradition and more of a weeklong exercise in patience. The crowds are insane, the chaos is overwhelming, and the sense of entitlement is off the charts. So, when an honest-to-the-gods storm erupts inside one of the ballrooms? Just another day at Blackhaven Manor.
Until he sets eyes on the source of the storm.
Six-and-half feet of brooding, lightning-throwing dragon shifter, Itri Lockwood has a bad-boy reputation and a temper as short as his patience. And he doesnāt take kindly to threats against whatās hisāespecially when it comes to Arlo.
Mixing business with pleasure was never part of the plan. He came for a distraction, but now heās juggling a coveted artifact, a deal gone sideways, and a mate who went from an unexpected temptation to a primal obsession.
Itri might be able to control the storm but keeping Arlo out of troubleā¦
Grae Bryanā Demon Bound series has been fantastic to date, matching the damaged, dark Russian mafia brothers with an assorted cast of demons who were an unlikely found family of demons, each watching and waiting to be summoned.
The Koslov family history is deeply disturbing, criminal as youād expect, and horrifically terrifying for those raised inside its core. The author did a fantastic job capturing this emotional trauma and layering it into each brother in a different way, and how it impacted their stories and relationship with the demons they summoned.
Yes, the intensity and complexity of Ivan and Nix hasnāt been matched. My favorite!
So when their cousin, the highly introspective Cooper, gets the next story and summoning of a demon weād met, I was curious.
Calling Chaos is a good book but it feels separate from the rest of the series. Bryan gives us scenes that have occurred before, but now we have them from the perspective of this couple and these characters. Thatās amusing.
And while we are given a general glimpse into what a painful background Cooper must have had, thereās been no foundation laid out in the series for him or his character before. So while Chaos becomes a vital part of the series and wildly entertaining dangerous being, Cooper remains more of a one dimensional person. Someone who reacts with Chaos, has tons of sex with him, and as we know will bond with him.
Thereās a āsave me ā element that comes out of nowhere and goes away with equal impact. Itās there for just that. So the reader believes in it just as much.
The ending sets up the next story and series finale which Iām really excited about. That should bring everything together. And the scariest demon yet.
So the best part of Calling Chaos is actually Chaos. Thereās small scenes here and there where heās the chaos demon you want and expect. I wish we had more of that. Or a better defined and fleshed out Cooper.
Cooper didnāt mean to summon a demon. He may be a hacker for the Mafia, but heās not exactly brave or adventurous by nature. He was only trying to do a small, easy job for his terrifying boss and then get back to not leaving the house for days on end. Only now that the demonās here, promising to be Cooperās friend for as long as he needs one, Cooper might just be lonely enough to let him.
Chaos knew it was finally his time to get summoned. No more being stuck in the boring Void, no more hanging out with the same three dull demons. Itās time for madness and mayhem and answering to no one but himself. Except Chaos doesn’t expect his newest summoner to be quite soā¦timid. And sweet. And willing to cater to every single one of Chaosās many wants and whims. Maybe it wouldnāt hurt to stick around for an eternity or two.
Now Chaos just needs to convince his new friend that it really isnāt all that scary to be mated to a demon, even one who loves to play with fire.
CALLING CHAOS IS A HEATED MM PARANORMAL ROMANCE. IT FEATURE A LONELY, SOCIALLY ANXIOUS HACKER AND THE WILY, WICKED, AND SLIGHTLY FERAL DEMON WHO WANTS TO PLAY WITH HIM FOREVER. IT ALSO CONTAINS āITāS JUST PRACTICEā BEDROOM LESSONS, MAFIA MEETINGS GONE AWRY, AND THE JOYS OF STEALING YOUR NOT-BOYFRIENDāS HOODIES.
Sun and Stone is the finale story for F.N. Manningās terrific paranormal romance series about a group of elemental mages getting their branding (think magical acceptance from each of their own magic elements) and finding love in the process. Often with other mages or paranormal characters.
The series started with a series mystery and wrapped it up within a couple of books then went on to tell stories with characters from the university of magic thatās a prominent location.
But Sun and Stone might be my favorite. The characters are older, and when the story opens up, Perry is leaving the building where his magic is checked and reviewed for potential and power levels. At his later years, he knows heās running out of time to become a mage and that his now limited magic will be locked soon. And heās devastated.
These early moments connect the reader into Perryās broken heart so quickly that when he collapses into a strangerās arms, weeping, we get it.
Itās a heartbreaking moment.
But as the stranger introduces himself and offers Perry comfort, a sweet, unexpected friendship is struck up between them. For Flynn knows exactly what Perry is feeling as heās been forced to accept the reality about his magic as well.
As the men explore the possibility of a relationship between them , revealing their past experiences and dashed hopes, author Manning writes a story that gives us two wonderful characters growing stronger together and a romantic connection to root for.
Thereās a dramatic twist or two. A villain who isnāt much of a surprise but a great ending thatās absolutely satisfying and is also a fantastic way to see the series out.
Highly enjoyable and my favorite couple of the series.
Perry has spent a lifetime chasing magic, but the clock is ticking, and he’s still not a full-fledged wizard. As his window to earn elemental stone power closes, heās struggling to imagine a life without magic. But when he bumps into a kind stranger and meets Fynn Callahan, everything changes.
Once a lover of sun magic, Fynn shows Perry that itās possible to move on and build a new life. And the more Perry gets to know the cheerful graphic designer with a sweet tooth, the easier it is to believe heāll be just fineāespecially if he winds up in Fynnās arms.
But something strange is happening with Fynnās powers. If they get to the bottom of whatās wrong, then Fynn will get another chance to gain magic. But if only one of them can become a caster, is their relationship doomed?
Will Perry find a way to keep his magic and his man, or will he lose both forever
A. M. Roseās Cursebreakers, Inc. series continues to be one of the most intriguing, surprising paranormal romance series Iāve read lately.
With each book and new case and romance, Rose expands on the magic system and universe that the series and characters inhabit. It just keeps getting better and darker, which makes sense considering that the focus of this series are horrendous curses.
Each story has a unique type of curse(s) that requires the ability of one of the group of found family of Cursebreakers here. The storyline revolves around the impact of upon those who are cursed and the individual Cursebreakers trying to figure out how to break them.
A Thousand Cuts is Fixās story but that title belongs to the character who is cursed, Liam. Liam is a character briefly introduced in the last book when he comes looking for help at the wrong moment. Itās at a point where the entire group is trying desperately to help one of their own, Hart, in his own case and relationship with Cane.
Fix is a person who has a strong sense of guardianship, a need to protect and safeguard others. And spiraling if he feels like heās failed. More about him and the groupās development is revealed in the story. But how Cursebreakers and their magical powers are developed from a very young age is a chilling story thread that Rose expands on with each character. We are talking extremely young ages when they are removed from their families because their powers present themselves and, as in Blackās case and probably others , itās traumatic.
So every character is a flawed, powerful and unique personality that ends up with a romantic partner to match. Equally interesting, often damaging or dangerous, wild back story and as with Liam, comes with a twist.
And a great rescue dog, named King.
The curses and stalker case is realistic and frightening. The romance is a BDSM with a believable Daddy kink that suits both characters personalities. I got it immediately.
The best thing is how Rose wraps up the case, bringing Liam finally home to Fix, safe and curse free. Surprises !
And it brings back an overall series mystery that looks to be a subtle twist and thread. I honestly loved it.
Fantastic characters, great plot and dark arc and universe. Love it and highly recommended.
Sometimes it feels like Fix’s entire life can be summed up with two simple words: wanting and waiting. Wanting a family. Wanting to belong. Wanting to protect. Wanting to love. And waiting endlessly to find it.
When a beautiful cam boy with a flurry of curses hanging over his head and a mysterious past asks for his help, Fix thinks all of the wanting and the waiting has come to an end.
Except Liamās entire life can be summed up in just one word.
Running.
Running from his past. Running from a rain of curses. Running from unwanted eyes stalking him. Running from the cursebreaker who feels like he can be the perfect daddāman for Liam. Offering him everything heās ever wanted. Protection. Care. Love.
Will they be able to fit their jagged edges together? Or will the shadow lurking behind Liam swallow them whole?
Halluci-Dating A Demon by Ashlynn Mills is part of the multi-author paranormal romance series, Monster Match, Season 2.
Itās a sweet romantic story made all the more interesting by the authorās use of her own history with narcolepsy to endow one of her main characters with this illness and have her other MC be the nightmare demon that is the one that helps him with his nightmares but adjust to his illness.
Elias, the human whose life is being consumed by guilt ridden nightmares and his narcolepsy and Arien, a dream demon who has been assigned to help Elias are a delight. Arien, especially comes across as a cotton candy ball of sunshine, taking a deep joy in everything on this āsideā of the things. For me, he made the story.
Elias was interesting but his history was confusing. Did he forget about the accident? Was it something else? How was he able to recover? That left a few questions in the plot.
But the romance was sweet and the couple were interesting in their elements.
This series is always worth reading as itās going to have some good stories and fascinating aspects to the characters. Grab them up.
When my hallucinations while falling asleep and waking up turn from my worse nightmares to a cute purple demon who won’t stop eating my food and stealing my hoodies, I can’t decide if he’s a problem or something I’m hoping isn’t only a figment of my imagination.
Helluci-dating is book two in Monster Match season two and ends with a sweet, fluffy HEA.
Full Color is the penultimate book in Georgeās ORCA series. Itās a paranormal fated mates shifter romance series that involves a family of Orca whale brothers and a mysterious family painting, The Evolution of Man, thatās being heavily sought after the the world art community, thieves and billionaires collectors as well as their own family.
Along the way, the brothers have come together to pool their talents to form the Organization for the Return of Criminals and Assets (ORCA). And book by book and mission by mission, find their fated mate.
In the last book, twin Cal Hunter found his fated mate in great white shark shifter, Jack, leaving his twin brother Quinn shaken by a sudden change in their twin bond and brotherly dynamic.
Quinn, an art dealer and forger, gets a call about the lost painting they have been searching for and the team is on a mission for recovery and investigation.
Quinn finds his fated mate during the search and mission to retrieve the painting, a chameleon shifter, Dimitri Crysanthos.
The romance is the quick instant recognition fated mates one with little time for a relationship or connection to be made. Dimitri has a sister in danger that isnāt a factor other than we know sheās somewhere at the city where the action scenes are taking place. Sheās a non entity otherwise.
George creates some nice elements around Dimitriās shifting character that involves art and painting but leaves too many holes in the characters backstory and abilities to really make him and his sister believable. Dimitri is sweet and one dimensional.
It wraps up quickly with enough information to move the series arc forward towards the series finale and the final couple and brother to get his fated mate.
The story and romance was just fine but the other plots were better imo. This feels rushed and incomplete in many aspects.
Iām looking forward to the finale and seeing how everything gets pulled together.
Quin Hunter likes the quiet life. He runs his gallery, forges famous art, and operates a fence where black market buyers get fakes and the real pieces get returned to their rightful owners. Nice and simple. He doesnāt do field work. But a call from his twin thrusts him into the action, and now he and his brothers are racing the clock to steal a painting from someone who never should have had it in the first place.
Dimitri Crysanthos is no stranger to mistakes. All he wanted to do was make life easier for his sister. Instead, he ended up making everything harder for both of them. With his life and his sisterās hanging in the balance, he has no choice but to do whatever one of the most ruthless men in Amsterdam tells him to do. All Dimitri wants is to stay aliveā¦until a stranger changes everything. Now Dimitri craves something terrifying, something that will put him and his sister in even more dangerāhis freedom.
The stakes of the heist have changed, and Quin refuses to quit until Dimitri is safe for good. Can the ORCA team get the art and Quinās fated mate out of Amsterdam, or are the odds too stacked against them?
Full Color is book three in the Organization for the Return of Criminals and Assets (ORCA) series, featuring an orca shifter art forger who isnāt keen on field work, a chameleon shifter with a lucrative secret talent, and a heist where the target is far more valuable than a stolen painting!
Alphas Never Hide brings Lori Amesā wonderful Willow Lake Supernaturals series to a end by featuring the reluctant Alpha Hayden finally accepting his mantle as the Alpha of the Willow Lake Supernaturals and finding his fated mate in a newly discovered hostage, Ryley, a faun.
Iāll be the first to admit I was finding Hayden tedious. His constant denial about his Alpha status and the continuing pity party about how everything was his fault was off putting. And Ames starts off with Hayden in the same pattern here. Lone wolf, whining about the past and his criminal brother. Got it.
Thankfully, a new character offers a change in direction and growth for Hayden. Thatās Ryley, a faun whoās been abducted as part of Robbieās supernatural trafficking operation and freed himself.
Ryley has some speciesism issues due to his dreadful herdās behavior and the author works through these issues skillfully to highlight whatās special about Willow Lake and to recap the inhabitants of the community. Really good work!
I absolutely loved Ryley and thought this character redeemed Haydenās, allowing some long overdue personality growth and character development.
One of my highlights is the scene where we see the magic of the moment when Hayden accepts his Alpha status flowing through the air and the community. Thatās was remarkable.
Iām not sure if this is the end of the trafficking storyline or not. Itās the end of Robbieās part in it. But there is a sequel series coming out soon. The Willow Lake Pack series and the fated mate romance of Parker and Levi launches that one.
Stay tuned!
Iām sure the characters will cross over and be in everyoneās business and storylines. Iām definitely looking forward to this.
I enjoyed seeing Hayden accomplish his goal and become the Alpha and get such a fantastic fated mate in Ryley.
A definite winner.

Hayden Walker might be trapped in Willow Lake by guilt and duty, but heās no oneās alpha. It doesnāt matter how many times people call him Alpha, with a capital A like itās his name, he just isnātājust ask his last pack. They had no problem rejecting him to follow his traitorous brother, Robbie, twelve years ago.
Hayden thought heād come to terms with what happened back then, but it turns out some things donāt get easier to accept with time. After discovering his brotherās latest sinister activities, Hayden canāt hide from the truth anymore. He has to stop him, particularly when Ryley Bell, his fated mate, is his brotherās latest victim.

Did you think it was the end of our wild hotel adventures?
Yeah, us too.
The Big Bad is gone. Weāre heroes! Adam, Fancy Fangs, and me (Zee, obvs) are long overdue some downtime. Iād also like a foot rub, a string of Tomās hallucinationāinducing cocktails, and endless hours of some much needed personal time between the sheets with my two favorite people. And my pole.
Hello, happy ever after!
But it turns out, fate aināt done with us yet.
Everyoneās favorite sunshine twink is great at unexpectedly unaliving folks who probably deserve it. What heās not great at is keeping secrets. So when Adam packs our bags and springs a surprise vacation on us, itās obviousāeven to senile ancient vampires like Lord Fancy Fangsāthat something is up.
Weāll play along and wonāt ask questions, because itās Adam. Heāll tell us whatās really going on . . . eventually.
But as we take the SOS Hotel team on the road and the weirdness stacks upābikerāgang werewolves, psycho witchy influencers, trolls, fairy souls, and sinkholesāthereās one question Fancy Fangs and I canāt shake.
What the f*ck do dragons run from?
(Weāre back in a new three part mini-series! Ha, didnāt see that coming did you? Yeah, neither did we. I still donāt get a book about ME, but the author āallowedā me to write this blurb, so long as I donāt f*ckinā swear. Pfft. So buckle up, b*tches, the ride aināt fuckinā over yet. Welcome to the SOS Hotel ~ Where weāre definitely not on the run.
Having read all the preceding series and the first book in the series, which I really enjoyed, I find myself puzzled that I just couldnāt get connected to the characters and story of Devoted.
Hopeless Blessed, is the third of four series in this large universe that Lark Taylor is constantly exploring in her many books of overlapping characters and their stories.
Iām not sure why I had such difficulty reading this book or staying involved in the storylines. Sam is a well written character, one that Lark has invested with many of her personal life qualities per her authorās notes.
Sam suffers from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), GAD (generalised anxiety disorder), panic disorder, and sensory processing disorder. That is a major element of his story and a constant thread throughout the book. How Sam is dealing with situations, how characters are reacting around him and what they do that contributes to exacerbate his many issues. Itās a huge part of his story and the relationship. As well as putting the emotional issues that Angel Zeke carries around with him, damaging father abuses and severe anger management problems.
Then thereās all the angels and their personalities that Zeke/Ezekiel lives with, his āband of angelic brothers ā. Who frankly, with one or two exceptions, donāt stand out from each other, the nine or however many just blended together in the book.
Perhaps my take on this is that Lark spends so much time on Samās disorders in the book, constantly explaining to various characters (readers) what they are and how they should be treated and addressed, when a plot line pops up, it feels unwieldy. Because the author hasnāt laid any foundation for this anywhere in the book.
Thereās other things, an odd area of non-consent weirdly enough, more new areas about Samās brain, that I started skimming through to the end.
As much as I connected with Conflicted, I was just as left with no attachment to Devoted, and unsure about continuing with the series. Too many characters Iām not sure about and personalities that feel one dimensional.
Loved the original and sequel series. Those were amazing.
Starting that online game was my attempt to find happiness. Something to fill my life other than the demands of Heaven and the rest of my unit.
I didnāt expect to find Sam.
Even with screens between us, Sam makes me feel more alive than I have in millennia. I find myself counting down the minutes until I can go online and be with him.
Heās my perfect match. In any other circumstances, Iād be doing whatever it took to make him mine.
But Iām not human. And, unlike humans, I have no say over who I spend eternity with. Fate decides who my mate will be, whether itās the person I love or not.
Sam lives in the same city as me. If he were my mate, Iād have met him by now. Iād feel a pull towards him that I couldnāt ignore.
The right thing to do would be to end this. To put up walls between us to keep both our hearts safe. Instead, I find myself tearing down the barriers, falling faster for him every day.
I know how this story will end, but I canāt stop myself. I donāt care what plans fate has for me.
I want to make Sam mine.
Devoted is a gripping, hurt/comfort, angel x human, MM PNR romance. The second in the Hopeless Blessed series, each book follows a different couple with a guaranteed HEA.
