Rebel Without a Claus is the finale to Charlie Cochetâs The Kings: A Treemendous Christmas series. Itâs a sweet short read that quickly recaps the preceding stories, telling the reader what happened to the other couples from the perspective of Leo, who has got secret plans of his own for his love and beloved fiancĂŠ, Ward Kingston.
What those plans are were revealed at the end of book three, so itâs no big secret here that itâs a wedding. But much of the story is Leo running around, getting Christopher, aka Winterhavenâs townâs Mayor and Santa, to help him organize this and make it happen. All while keeping King in the dark about the wedding.
I wish Cochetâs story had more details about Christopher and his wife, as they are both very âMr and Mrs. Clausâ but thatâs not carried out fully.
Itâs sweet, romantic and very much in the holiday spirit. I enjoyed it .
Life for Leopold de Loughrey is anything but ordinary. His meticulous and logical mind is both a gift and a curse, especially when it comes to finding a heartfelt present for his beloved fiancĂŠ, Ward Kingston. As Christmas and their first milestone anniversary draw near, Leo is eager to find the ideal gift that will perfectly capture their deep love and devotion.
When Colton surprises their family with an unforgettable Christmas vacation to Winterhaven, the possibilities that await in this enchanting holiday town stir Leoâs imagination, and with a few keystrokes, he discovers the town’s mayorâa man who remarkably resembles Santa Claus himself.
Join Leo, King, and their Four Kings Security family as they embark on a shenanigan-fueled adventure filled with unyielding determination and boundless love to rescue the holiday season for Winterhaven, where Santa Claus may just hold the key to delivering the perfect Christmas.

Home for the Howlidays, third in Cochetâs A Treemendous Christmas series, centers around the couple of Giovanni Galanos and Sacha âJokerâ Wilder. Gio, his service dog, Cookie, a Golden Retriever, and Sacha, his boyfriend , and his military trained dog, Chip, a Belgium Malinois.
The month-long Christmas vacation stay at Winterhaven, has turned into a working vacation where the found family of The Four King Security agency and their significant others, The Boyfriend Collective, have been scrambling to get the town back together for its traditional Christmas celebration.
While the title may have a reader thinking that the book is dog centric, itâs more about the relationship between the Four Kings Sacha âJokerâ Wilder and his extremely wealthy boyfriend, Giovanni Galanos. Each man has a different canine companion. For Gio, itâs his service dog, Cookie, a necessity after the ordeal he suffered from recent events. For Joker, itâs his working ex military partner, a Belgian Malinois named Chip. But the focus here is on their relationship and the issues that are threatening to pull them apart.
Itâs Jokerâs insecurity about Gioâs wealth and former globetrotting lifestyle. And Gioâs inability to see that heâs too wrapped up in his own job to notice that Joker is having trouble.
I liked the story but somehow it didnât come together as smoothly as the other two installments. The development of the issues and the resolution was a little too disjointed, broken up by dramatic scenes that involved other characters, and the resolution was too quickly over for such complex emotional issues. All of the topics, the equality, the jealousy, the time management, the illness management, even their past history damage, and their own barriers to matrimony, to have those as storylines and attempt to give them depth and the detailed resolution they deserve , is a lot to expect of 94 pages. Especially with other characters and their story threads involved too.
So I found this an enjoyable read and a lovely addition to the series but not my favorite so far. Now onto a very exciting story next! The finale!
Giovanni Galanosâs life took a dramatic turn after a terrifying ordeal and a newfound health condition led him home. Leaving behind his globetrotting adventures in favor of a more grounded existence, Gio finds solace in the arms of his love, Sacha âJokerâ Wilder, a complex and captivating man who held Gioâs heart from the moment they first spoke. Together, along with their furry companionsâCookie, Gioâs service dog, and Chip, Sachaâs mischievous Belgian Malinoisâhis unconventional family forges a bond stronger than any hardship life can throw their way.
As the air teems with holiday cheer, Winterhaven unveils itself in all its enchanting glory. But a mishap has Sacha grumpier than usual. Amidst the joyous chaos that surrounds them, can the townâs holiday magic reignite Sachaâs Christmas spirit?
Join Gio and Sacha, along with their merry band of former Green Berets and their partners, as they navigate misadventures and heartwarming moments in Winterhaven, where true love and the transformative power of Christmas await.

Sleigh It Ainât So, the second short story in Cochetâs A Treemendous Christmas series, is focusing primarily on a favorite character of mine, Fitz Harlow. Fitz, one of the Boyfriend Collective, is a fabulous character, along with his standard poodle, Duchess, who goes everywhere with him and his boyfriend, Jack, one of the Four Kings Security Agency. Itâs their relationship and Jackâs reaction to the traumatic events thatâs still effecting their lives that has everyone concerned.
This is a short tale that still pursues that overall arc themes of saving the town of Winterhaven and its famous Christmas celebration, but Cochet is beautifully threading through multiple storylines, like Fitz and Jackâs , to both highlight the couple and still illustrate how much they love each other and fit that into the overall plot and townâs character.
Itâs the couple that Fitz was working on bringing together, the various buildings that need repairing, the Christmas lights and townspeople with their own stories and holiday names. Cochet is merrily weaving it all together into a single story and overall narrative that satisfies our need for romance and a sleigh full of the Christmas spirit. With adorable dogs even.
And it looks like they might be the main stars of the next installment, Home for the Howlidays! Iâm thoroughly enjoying this series and this was just another great story in a small package.
Fitz Harlow has the idyllic life he always dreamed of. With the fashion industry a distant memory, he now revels in the joy of running his own salon. In addition to his flourishing career, Fitz has found the love of his life, Jack, and inherited a colorful family of former Green Berets and their loving partners. And who could forget his adorable poodle princess, Duchess? But life isn’t all sprinkles and gingerbread. As Jack becomes consumed by his work, cracks appear in their fairy-tale love story.
When their family is whisked away to the charming town of Winterhaven for the holiday season, Fitz eagerly embraces the festive merriment. Amidst the delightful matchmaking chaos and mischievous antics, can the enchantment of Christmas in Winterhaven work its magic to help Fitz and Jack rediscover the spark that first ignited their love?

It took me a while to remember who all the couples were in Charlie Cochetâs Not So Silent Night, the first part of her The Kings: A Treemendous Christmas series. But once I jumped into the chaos thatâs the found family of the Four Kings Security family and their partners/
husbands known as the Boyfriend Collective, including three dogs, it all quickly came back together. I soon remembered how much I enjoyed the couples and this wild, action packed romantic universe Cochet has created around them.
Itâs Christmas and from the perspective of billionaire Colton as he surveys his home he shares with husband Ace, as the group tries to pull together the perfect holiday decorations. Itâs obvious that something extra special is needed as itâs just not happening as heâd hoped.
Itâs a quickly booked month long holiday to the perfect Christmas getaway, Winterhaven. Which means nothing will go off as anticipated to the delight of the reader and amazement of everyone else involved.
Winterhaven is a Christmas town in need of some miracles, some of which can be supplied by the newly arrived Four Kings security group and the Boyfriend Collective who set out to make things happy and bright!
This is a joyful and sexy read, full of the Christmas spirit, for Colton and Ace, and the other couples joining in the help each other and the town celebrate Christmas. Itâs got dogs romping through snow, matchmaking, snappy dialogue, and sexy moments between couples. Just everything we need and love about the series.
Iâm hurrying over to the next one to see how the rescue is going. This is a definite recommendation for fans of the series and holiday reading.
Escape to a Winter Wonderland with CEO and billionaire Colton Connolly as he embarks on a shenanigan-filled journey in search of the idyllic white Christmas he’s always craved. Inspired by the enchantment of his favorite holiday movies, Colton surprises his beloved husband and their found family with a trip to the captivating mountain town of Winterhaven.
However, beneath the twinkling lights, unexpected trouble awaits. A miscommunication leaves the town in dire straits, threatening to steal away the magic of Christmas. Determined to save the day, Colton rallies his family, ready to overcome any obstacle and ensure that Christmas in Winterhaven is nothing short of perfect.

Dealing Him In is the start of a new Kings universe series by Charlie Cochet and itâs a terrific one. So easy to dive into the high action and sexy romance between retiring Fire Chief Valentino âValâ Serrano and Kings bodyguard Santos âSaintâ Cavallero that my time with the book just slid merrily by.
Thereâs age gap, bi-sexual awakening ,a mystery, bombs, adrenaline rush, and real chemistry between two men so this romance really ignites and makes me feel as though this relationship has a firm grounding to it.
While you donât have to be familiar with the other series and characters, it certainly makes it easier when they appear to support Val and Saint in their tentative romance and baby steps toward a HEA, and through the entire events that will occur during the storyline.
Thereâs plenty of drama to be found here, and various types of support needed.
Each man has realistic doubts about the relationship, the age gap and barriers raised due to personal issues and their own struggles. Cochet did a balanced job in creating a healthy relationship with the men, and advice from friends that carefully helped them understand the stumbling blocks they had raised between each other.
Have to admit I loved the use of the Malinois, but thatâs on me. Iâm such a sucker for dogs , especially when theyâre used appropriately as the author does here with Chip.
Wonderful work all the way up to and through that adrenaline rush of an ending! Fabulous first book of a new series and addition to the Kings Security universe.
Now to wait on the release of book two next year!
Until then Iâm highly recommending Dealing Him In (The Kings: Royal Flush Book 1) by Charlie Cochet !
Santos âSaintâ Cavallero had his life all figured out when he married his high school sweetheart, joined the Navy, and became a SEAL. After years of being deployed, Saint comes home for good, only to discover his wife has fallen for another man. Now divorced and a bodyguard for Four Kings Security, Saint loves his job and his found family. His dating life? A hot mess, until the spark of an unexpected attraction strikes him like lightning, leaving Saint confused. Why is he feeling hot and bothered over the ruggedly handsome Fire Chief?
After twenty years of service, Valentino âValâ Serrano is passing his fire ax on to the next Fire Chief. His retirement starts off with a bang, literally. Val is saved by the young, hot bodyguard heâs been dreaming of for longer than he cares to admit, but Saint is straight, isnât he?
Val and Saint get roped into working on Valâs tavern, but Val is determined not to let Saint get under his skin. Heâs been here before, and heâs not about to risk his heart, no matter how hot and flirty Saint is. When a killer sets his sights on Val and puts everyone he cares about in harmâs way, thereâs suddenly more at risk than their hearts. If Val and Saint donât stop the killer, their whole world could burn to the ground, and the possibility of a future together will go up in smoke.

Love for the Reaper is Charlie Cochetâs much anticipated entry in the multi-author series The Elite, based around a sublimely complex and supremely criminal club called The Anonymous, in a dark, sinister city of Old Defiance.
The series setting and location is darkly fascinating, rich in the noir atmosphere and dangerous elements that allow all these authors to let their imaginations go wild where their characters and storylines are concerned.
Cochetâs take on this seamy underworld has plenty of interesting elements, oneâs that early on showed so much depth and detail thatâs been elevating the best of these stories.
Take her character Devlin âDevâ Espinosa. Heâs not a Reaper , where did that come from ( not in his job description to kill anyone)?
Instead heâs a Ferryman. So much cooler. With his one of a kind, special âguaranteed to blend into the shadows â black matte finish, 1969 Chevy Camaro, black grille and door handles, even the 18 inch wheels and rims were black. A chariot fit for the Ferryman.
Dev delivers the âdeadâ bodies heâs given to dump into his specially made trunk into a new life. Whether that a permanent death or new identity at a location, itâs not his to question. Just dump and leave. The Ferrymanâs delivery is over.
Heâs death on wheels, a black chariot wheeling through a city of Hell, enjoying the life heâs got, on smooth pavement paid for by murder and sin.
Thatâs a great character. So too is his partner. A woman who we donât get nearly enough of, but who is his equal partner in wry wit and deadly experience.
Had Charlie made even the partner the other mc, things would have been better.
But things start to derail with the addition of whatâs starting to be defined as the âcinnamon bunâ character. Overly used too., including the phrase. The almost too sweet, innocent that ends up in a relationship, here because Remy Corbin has the survival instincts of a kumquat and works for a mobster boss without realizing it.
I think I could like Remy more if he was in another story, without the mob aspect, but here so much, imo, works against him as a character, and their relationship believability. â oh look, Iâm living in a Good Fellas setâ Smh. Way too predictable.
These are short stories. Cochet doesnât lay out, enough in her narrative, to accomplish the needed changes in character realignment, instant love, and development for us to believe that Dev is going to throw out the life he enjoys for Remy , who heâs instantly fallen in love with, who now instantly loves him back. Even though Remy has just come out of a bad situation. No, Dev threw out his history, indeed almost gotten himself killed in a maneuver guaranteed not to work.
It makes no sense, especially given that strong opening.
More sense narratively, if thereâs no relationship, just a man, doing another job, and âferrying â an innocent out of town. Thatâs believable.
And then at the end Cochet throws in a whole new couple, including dub con, a conspiracy, a betrayal, and it all devolves into a whole lot of drama that has nothing to do with the original plot.
What was Cochet doing here?
The only reason this even maintains a 3 rating was that strong intro and some interesting elements. Otherwise, the manner in which the story explodes into new territory without any context or direction from the original narrative would have me issuing warning flags. Such as DNF.
Do i recommend? Not really. Read if youâre a Cochet fan or want to complete the series.
Devlin âDevâ Espinosa lives in the shadows of the criminal underworld. As a Ferryman, his job is to safely transport âthe deadâ to their new lives, no questions asked. With no one to answer to, lots of cash, and access to The Anonymousâan exclusive club for the eliteâDev is loving life.
Until Remy Corbin gets into his car.
Remy is just a regular guy working a regular bartending job. At least, thatâs what he thought before walking in on his boss taking someone out. Witnessing the assassination paints a target on Remyâs back, and when the bullets fly, he jumps into a strangerâs car.
Dev has no intention of getting involved in Remyâs problems, but something about the guy brings out protective instincts Dev didnât know he had. Going against his better judgment, Dev vows to keep Remy alive.
Can wild nights fueled by danger and explosive passion lead to more? Or will the hitman on their tail cut their romanceâand livesâshort?
Love for the Reaper is a part of the multi-author series The Elite. Each book can be read as a standalone and in any order. What links these books together is The Anonymous, a club beneath the gritty city where only the elite are
Paranormal Princes: The Complete Series by Charlie Cochet is a fantastic way to binge read the series. Three stories, two bridged by a kingly developing tale of romance of its own which will resolve itself with the third series tale, a culmination of all three storylines.
I happily breezed through them, admittedly the first couple still being my favorite. Cochet really outdid herself with Prince Owin, Prince of the Ocelots. If youâve ever been owned by a cat, known a cat, or just plain observed any, then this character and felid portrayal of an ocelot shifter will ring so true you be laughing. I do every time he makes an appearance here, and in other stories. I heart him so much. Grimmwolf, wolf shifter and bodyguard , as ordered by their king and his advisor, is perfect for him as well.
This is, of course, my favorite story of the three. First and best, imo.
It goes that King Alarick , King (and father) of all Shifters, and the blind immortal Lord Jean Eldritch, kingâs adviser , have devised individual quests for the Kingâs children, the Princesses and Princes to prove they can rule their kingdoms and their people. Theirs is also a developing romance of over a thousand years, with a mystery included.
First quest and book is:
1. The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard
The tale of a very adorable, spoiled persnickety ocelot prince and his quietly smitten wolfy bodyguard on a quest to prove the ocelot prince deserves his crown. Feline purfection! Feline high handed glam versus a canine werewolf sensibility, with maybe a long-standing crush. How they tackle the quest involves a magical bag, a purple orb, and some great crossover characters from a Macy Blake series!
2. The Prince and his Captivating Carpenter
The Prince this time is a deeply grieving bear shifter. Prince Bernd lost his father up on a mountain when they were hiking and heâs never recovered from the tragedy. Heâs withdrawn from his people and never leaves his castle. Until time for his quest.
His king and advisor have assigned him a coyote shifter, Saer, who looks very familiar. Itâs up to the two of them to survive together and complete a daunting and dangerous task.
Unlike the first story, the second is much less lighthearted, the grim reality of the painful nature of Berndâs behavior and withdrawal never far from the surface. Saer also has deep insecurities and fears to overcome. This is a darker journey thatâs a trend for the series.
The characters are excellent, and I enjoyed their journey immensely.
3. The King and The Vigilant Valet
This story was both the one that had the most goals, the most themes and plot stories to wrap up. I really enjoyed all the twists and plots turns. Considering itâs really the biggest quest of them all , with life and death stakes for all involved, it stands to reason that Cochet has a cast of multitudes here, heroes and villains.
The ending wasnât entirely satisfying for me as I didnât feel that the outcome for Jeanâs true form did anything but defang him. I kept thinking surely there must have been a more imaginative way to keep him true to his mythical nature while leaving him able to be more himself than before.
Ah well. ââTwas not to be. But it left me with feeling that there could have been more. Especially after the epilogue.
So while I loved the first, really enjoyed the second, the final chapter had issues for me. Still the whole thing was great and a wonderful journey for lovers of Shifter romance and especially those of the feline characters.
Let the good times roar! Enjoy the complete Paranormal Princes series.
THE PRINCE AND HIS BEDEVILED BODYGUARD
Prince Owin
Being a fierce predatorânot at all adorable, despite my graceful statureâthe last thing I needed was a bodyguard. Especially a wolf shifter, whose presence alone was an insult to my princely principles. As Prince of the Ocelot Shifters, I prided myself on my infallible feline instincts, uncompromisable dignity, and flawless fashion sense. If having a canine follow me around at all times wasnât bad enough, I now faced the most important moment of my entire life. The time had come to prove I was worthy of my crown. If only I could find a way to get rid of the pesky bodyguard.
Grimmwolf
When the King of All Shifters asked me to guard Prince Owin, I admit I had no idea what to expect. Cat shifters tend to be a little intense, not to mention kinda cranky. Owin was no exception, though he seemed crankier than most. Being his bodyguard was proving to be one of the greatest challenges of my lifeâbut not nearly as great as convincing him there was something special between us. When Owin is faced with a perilous quest to prove his worth, I was determined to keep him safe, even if the same couldnât be said of my heart.
THE PRINCE AND HIS CAPTIVATING CARPENTER
Prince Bernd
As Prince of the Bear Shifters, I knew the time would come for me to prove myself worthy of my crown. I expected my quest to be perilous. What I didnât expect was for it to take me up into Espen Mountain, a place thatâs brought me nothing but grief and terrible nightmares. Not only must I find the five magical ingredients, but I have to do so alongside Saer, a mysterious and charming shifter coyote summoned by the king to be my guide. But who is Saer, and why do I feel as if weâve met before?
Saer Crushing on Prince Bernd from afar was one thing. Being given the responsibility of saving the prince and his kingdom was a whole other story. Banished from my kingdom by my own prince years ago, I never imagined I would be summoned to help Bernd. What could I possibly offer a prince? How was I supposed to save him? I was no one. A shifter with no place to call home. What I did know was that I would do everything in my power to help Bernd succeed on his quest. All I had to do was stop crushing on the guy, find the magical ingredients hidden up a dangerous mountain, and save his heart. What could go wrong?
THE KING AND HIS VIGILANT VALET
Jean
The past has a way of catching up with you, even if you are immortal. Iâve spent thousands of years as the valet and companion to the powerful King of All Shifters. It has been my honor and duty to protect, serve, and advise him. I never intended to fall in love with him. My past is filled with death and bloodshed, but I never once regretted keeping Alarick safe. Now an evil I thought long gone has resurfaced, determined to kill Alarick and plunge the world into chaos. Saving Alarick means revealing the truth about myself. I donât know whatâs worse, failing to protect the king I love, or watching him turn away from me when he discovers what I really am.
King Alarick
As King of All Shifters, my powers are connected to the cosmos, and I have been around since the dawn of time. There are few things that can kill me. Unfortunately, one of those things has escaped its prison and is set to destroy me. The only weapon that can defeat this creature is the Scythe of Kronos, which has been missing for nearly as long as I have lived. When Jean and I set out on a quest to find the scythe, questions I had long ignored must now be answered. What is Jeanâs connection to this evil? Why will he trust me with his life but not his secrets? As my most trusted valet, and my greatest friend, surely nothing that happens along this perilous journey can change what I feel in my heart for him. Or can it?
I know Iâm in for a fabulous time when Iâm cackling at the very beginning of the story! Just pages in and my sides are hurting from laughing over the outfit and situation Gage Kingston finds himself in. Itâs hilarious, realistically anxiety producing, and so well written that weâre drawn into Gageâs story and comedy/drama elements of his love life instantly.
So as we start, this is how we continue on! A breakneck rumble of a romantic contemporary love story that encapsulates the best elements of second chances at love, lovers reunited, and best friends who became lovers all into one singular book. One I adore.
I didnât realize until later this was part of the Four Kings Security Universe. I donât think you have to have read one or all of those to get with the characters and setting here. Itâs narratively well laid out and Cochetâs foundation for the Runaway Grooms is very solid.
Each main character has a different but similar feel to them in that theyâre both multidimensional and have depth in their respective histories. Gage with his large family, including cousins and their partners and Jett with his found family of his fatherâs band members.
Each person has been given aspects of their history to blend with their personalities to make them feel believable. As Jett still grieves and works through the loss of his father, we understand those emotions and actions. When Gage panics and flees when faced with a reality heâs just recognizing? We get that too. The mixture of sadness and humor, loss and love, all so human, endearing, and real.
If I had a quibble, it was that the bad guy/villain of the piece felt a little one dimensional next to all the other characters. But honestly, that was it.
Ok more more quibble. We have to wait almost an entire year for the next book in this series. Sigh. January to be exact. Oh well.
This was such a fantastic read that Iâm highly recommending it. For those that like a complete read list, Cochet has a Four Kings Security Universe one at the beginning of the book and on her website. But anti donât feel it required. Iâll leave that decision up to you.
They say your wedding day is the beginning of your happily ever after.
But Iâm pretty sure they never stood on a sweltering Florida beach getting ready to promise forever⌠only to change their mind at the last minute and be assaulted by a crustacean while fleeing the scene.
Once upon a time, I was a respected Navy officer. A guy who made a career out of managing chaos.
Now, I am the chaos, a groom on the run from my ex-fiance and his dadâs goons. Oh, and the guy driving the getaway car? That would be my ex-boyfriend, Jett.
Gorgeous. Brilliant. A guy I couldnât help falling in love with twelve years ago.
The guy I realize Iâve always loved.
Did I mention heâs also a famous rock star on a sold-out summer tour?
This situation has disaster written all over it. But if I can manage the chaos, maybe Iâll get my happy ending after all.
Former Army Ranger turned government assassin Ălvaro Montero and CIA Officer Caiden Cardosa crossed paths two years ago in Vienna, where their encounter ended less than amicablyâdespite the explosive sexual chemistry between them.
Now Caiden is riding a desk at Langley after his cover is blown. And Ălvaroâwho was âkilledââhas a new identity and purpose as Delta/D, an operative for the Locke and Keyes Agency, under the leadership of the mysterious Alpha Orion.
When D and Caiden team up in a deadly black ops mission, the urge to kill each other will have to take a back seat to the desire for revenge against the man who betrayed them both. Surviving the mission wonât be easy. Resisting the passion between themâthat might be impossible.
This was a really good story and I really enjoyed it. D has been working on a black-ops team since he was âkilledâ and his world gets thrown sideways when Caiden walks into their meeting. Caidenâs life was destroyed two years ago and heâs barely been living since and isnât quite happy to see the man he spent one night with when they meet again.
Both of these guys have secrets, for different reasons but open up more than they ever though they would. I loved the interplay between these two and hated seeing D feel that he had to push Caiden away for him to be happy because he didnât think he was worthy. For a grumpy contract killer D is surprisingly sweet and he did a good job of taking care of and protecting Caiden even without really meaning to. Caiden longs to really be with D but he is willing to play the long game and wait, though one moment in their mission pushes him a little too far.
I was glad that D and Caiden both got some closure over what happened in Vienna but it looks like there is more to come as the agency digs deeper into their betrayer. I loved the other guys we got to meet from the Locke and Keyes Agency and really look forward to their stories.
The cover art by Tiferet Design is great and I love the visual of D.

âYou donât need to be a designer to know how not to decorate your house,â D said, scowling at the vintage floral loveseat across from the blue velvet couch. âI think my grandmother had a couch like that. Except it was vacuum sealed in plastic. Nothing like sitting on a plastic-lined couch in the summer with no AC.â
Caiden gasped. âWait, you had a grandmother?â
âHave. Yes.â
âWhich means you had a mother.â
âHave a mother. Yes.â D squinted at him.
âWhere are you going with this?â
âWell, damn.â
âWhat?â
Caiden shrugged. âI was under the impression you emerged from the darkness below. Clawing yourself out from the dirt, like a zombie or a great evil thatâs come back to life after a misguided loved one buried you in Stephen Kingâs Pet Sematary.â
D didnât appear impressed. âFunny.â
âWhat does the Dark Lord look like?â Caiden asked, moving to inspect one of the pillars between two bookcases. âWas he like Tim Curry in Legend or sexy and British like Tom Ellis in Lucifer?â
âHe was your height, blondish hair, with green eyes. A mouthy motherfucker who never shut up because he was a smart little shit who thought he knew everything.â
âWow. Thatâs pretty specific.â Caiden nodded, removing his tablet from inside his messenger bag. âA mouthy motherfucker and a smart little shit. Sounds like an interesting guy.â
âSounds like a certain pain in my ass,â D hissed from behind him.
