Halluci-Dating A Demon by Ashlynn Mills is part of the multi-author paranormal romance series, Monster Match, Season 2.
Itās a sweet romantic story made all the more interesting by the authorās use of her own history with narcolepsy to endow one of her main characters with this illness and have her other MC be the nightmare demon that is the one that helps him with his nightmares but adjust to his illness.
Elias, the human whose life is being consumed by guilt ridden nightmares and his narcolepsy and Arien, a dream demon who has been assigned to help Elias are a delight. Arien, especially comes across as a cotton candy ball of sunshine, taking a deep joy in everything on this āsideā of the things. For me, he made the story.
Elias was interesting but his history was confusing. Did he forget about the accident? Was it something else? How was he able to recover? That left a few questions in the plot.
But the romance was sweet and the couple were interesting in their elements.
This series is always worth reading as itās going to have some good stories and fascinating aspects to the characters. Grab them up.
When my hallucinations while falling asleep and waking up turn from my worse nightmares to a cute purple demon who won’t stop eating my food and stealing my hoodies, I can’t decide if he’s a problem or something I’m hoping isn’t only a figment of my imagination.
Helluci-dating is book two in Monster Match season two and ends with a sweet, fluffy HEA.
Full Color is the penultimate book in Georgeās ORCA series. Itās a paranormal fated mates shifter romance series that involves a family of Orca whale brothers and a mysterious family painting, The Evolution of Man, thatās being heavily sought after the the world art community, thieves and billionaires collectors as well as their own family.
Along the way, the brothers have come together to pool their talents to form the Organization for the Return of Criminals and Assets (ORCA). And book by book and mission by mission, find their fated mate.
In the last book, twin Cal Hunter found his fated mate in great white shark shifter, Jack, leaving his twin brother Quinn shaken by a sudden change in their twin bond and brotherly dynamic.
Quinn, an art dealer and forger, gets a call about the lost painting they have been searching for and the team is on a mission for recovery and investigation.
Quinn finds his fated mate during the search and mission to retrieve the painting, a chameleon shifter, Dimitri Crysanthos.
The romance is the quick instant recognition fated mates one with little time for a relationship or connection to be made. Dimitri has a sister in danger that isnāt a factor other than we know sheās somewhere at the city where the action scenes are taking place. Sheās a non entity otherwise.
George creates some nice elements around Dimitriās shifting character that involves art and painting but leaves too many holes in the characters backstory and abilities to really make him and his sister believable. Dimitri is sweet and one dimensional.
It wraps up quickly with enough information to move the series arc forward towards the series finale and the final couple and brother to get his fated mate.
The story and romance was just fine but the other plots were better imo. This feels rushed and incomplete in many aspects.
Iām looking forward to the finale and seeing how everything gets pulled together.
Quin Hunter likes the quiet life. He runs his gallery, forges famous art, and operates a fence where black market buyers get fakes and the real pieces get returned to their rightful owners. Nice and simple. He doesnāt do field work. But a call from his twin thrusts him into the action, and now he and his brothers are racing the clock to steal a painting from someone who never should have had it in the first place.
Dimitri Crysanthos is no stranger to mistakes. All he wanted to do was make life easier for his sister. Instead, he ended up making everything harder for both of them. With his life and his sisterās hanging in the balance, he has no choice but to do whatever one of the most ruthless men in Amsterdam tells him to do. All Dimitri wants is to stay aliveā¦until a stranger changes everything. Now Dimitri craves something terrifying, something that will put him and his sister in even more dangerāhis freedom.
The stakes of the heist have changed, and Quin refuses to quit until Dimitri is safe for good. Can the ORCA team get the art and Quinās fated mate out of Amsterdam, or are the odds too stacked against them?
Full Color is book three in the Organization for the Return of Criminals and Assets (ORCA) series, featuring an orca shifter art forger who isnāt keen on field work, a chameleon shifter with a lucrative secret talent, and a heist where the target is far more valuable than a stolen painting!
Alphas Never Hide brings Lori Amesā wonderful Willow Lake Supernaturals series to a end by featuring the reluctant Alpha Hayden finally accepting his mantle as the Alpha of the Willow Lake Supernaturals and finding his fated mate in a newly discovered hostage, Ryley, a faun.
Iāll be the first to admit I was finding Hayden tedious. His constant denial about his Alpha status and the continuing pity party about how everything was his fault was off putting. And Ames starts off with Hayden in the same pattern here. Lone wolf, whining about the past and his criminal brother. Got it.
Thankfully, a new character offers a change in direction and growth for Hayden. Thatās Ryley, a faun whoās been abducted as part of Robbieās supernatural trafficking operation and freed himself.
Ryley has some speciesism issues due to his dreadful herdās behavior and the author works through these issues skillfully to highlight whatās special about Willow Lake and to recap the inhabitants of the community. Really good work!
I absolutely loved Ryley and thought this character redeemed Haydenās, allowing some long overdue personality growth and character development.
One of my highlights is the scene where we see the magic of the moment when Hayden accepts his Alpha status flowing through the air and the community. Thatās was remarkable.
Iām not sure if this is the end of the trafficking storyline or not. Itās the end of Robbieās part in it. But there is a sequel series coming out soon. The Willow Lake Pack series and the fated mate romance of Parker and Levi launches that one.
Stay tuned!
Iām sure the characters will cross over and be in everyoneās business and storylines. Iām definitely looking forward to this.
I enjoyed seeing Hayden accomplish his goal and become the Alpha and get such a fantastic fated mate in Ryley.
A definite winner.

They had no problem rejecting him to follow his traitorous brother, Robbie, twelve years ago.
Hayden thought heād come to terms with what happened back then, but it turns out some things donāt get easier to accept with time. Thatās a lot of elements and stuff to jam into one book. Because at eight books, this couple has had a lot of fun, many adventures, and the Black Market itself is full of the most memorable Masters of the most interesting fields of magic one could imagine.
Every one, including the Goddess Hecate and the adorable sentient AI family members, Lore and Whitby, are present at the goings on, new mystery, and a relocation of the wedding to, where else, the Summer Palace, courtesy of King Oberon.
The author balances the storyline of the many characters and elements involved in the coupleās wedding with the ongoing process of completing the arcane engine his parents had started as well as launching the guild of artificers. This arcane engine process brings the story back to the original mystery of the original destruction of guild of artificers and the deaths of Jacksonās parents.
The story is highly entertaining, extremely suspenseful, and action packed. But Noor never forgets about the emotional impact of family and relationships , writing moments of genuine poignancy and deep love.
Iām thrilled with the ending and this book and series are a definite recommendation for me.

SOS HOTEL: Ho, Ho, No by Adam Vex, Ariana Nashā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Did you think it was the end of our wild hotel adventures?
Yeah, us too.
The Big Bad is gone. Weāre heroes! Adam, Fancy Fangs, and me (Zee, obvs) are long overdue some downtime. Iād also like a foot rub, a string of Tomās hallucinationāinducing cocktails, and endless hours of some much needed personal time between the sheets with my two favorite people. And my pole.
Hello, happy ever after!
But it turns out, fate aināt done with us yet.
Everyoneās favorite sunshine twink is great at unexpectedly unaliving folks who probably deserve it. What heās not great at is keeping secrets. So when Adam packs our bags and springs a surprise vacation on us, itās obviousāeven to senile ancient vampires like Lord Fancy Fangsāthat something is up.
Weāll play along and wonāt ask questions, because itās Adam. Heāll tell us whatās really going on . . . eventually.
But as we take the SOS Hotel team on the road and the weirdness stacks upābikerāgang werewolves, psycho witchy influencers, trolls, fairy souls, and sinkholesāthereās one question Fancy Fangs and I canāt shake.
What the f*ck do dragons run from?
(Weāre back in a new three part mini-series! Ha, didnāt see that coming did you? Yeah, neither did we. I still donāt get a book about ME, but the author āallowedā me to write this blurb, so long as I donāt f*ckinā swear. Pfft. So buckle up, b*tches, the ride aināt fuckinā over yet. You think youāre ready? Think again, cupcake. The crazy just got crazier.)
Welcome to the SOS Hotel ~ Where weāre definitely not on the run.
Having read all the preceding series and the first book in the series, which I really enjoyed, I find myself puzzled that I just couldnāt get connected to the characters and story of Devoted.
Hopeless Blessed, is the third of four series in this large universe that Lark Taylor is constantly exploring in her many books of overlapping characters and their stories.
Iām not sure why I had such difficulty reading this book or staying involved in the storylines. Sam is a well written character, one that Lark has invested with many of her personal life qualities per her authorās notes.
Sam suffers from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), GAD (generalised anxiety disorder), panic disorder, and sensory processing disorder. That is a major element of his story and a constant thread throughout the book. How Sam is dealing with situations, how characters are reacting around him and what they do that contributes to exacerbate his many issues. Itās a huge part of his story and the relationship. As well as putting the emotional issues that Angel Zeke carries around with him, damaging father abuses and severe anger management problems.
Then thereās all the angels and their personalities that Zeke/Ezekiel lives with, his āband of angelic brothers ā. Who frankly, with one or two exceptions, donāt stand out from each other, the nine or however many just blended together in the book.
Perhaps my take on this is that Lark spends so much time on Samās disorders in the book, constantly explaining to various characters (readers) what they are and how they should be treated and addressed, when a plot line pops up, it feels unwieldy. Because the author hasnāt laid any foundation for this anywhere in the book.
Thereās other things, an odd area of non-consent weirdly enough, more new areas about Samās brain, that I started skimming through to the end.
As much as I connected with Conflicted, I was just as left with no attachment to Devoted, and unsure about continuing with the series. Too many characters Iām not sure about and personalities that feel one dimensional.
Loved the original and sequel series. Those were amazing.
Starting that online game was my attempt to find happiness. Something to fill my life other than the demands of Heaven and the rest of my unit.
I didnāt expect to find Sam.
Even with screens between us, Sam makes me feel more alive than I have in millennia. I find myself counting down the minutes until I can go online and be with him.
Heās my perfect match. In any other circumstances, Iād be doing whatever it took to make him mine.
But Iām not human. And, unlike humans, I have no say over who I spend eternity with. Fate decides who my mate will be, whether itās the person I love or not.
Sam lives in the same city as me. If he were my mate, Iād have met him by now. Iād feel a pull towards him that I couldnāt ignore.
The right thing to do would be to end this. To put up walls between us to keep both our hearts safe. Instead, I find myself tearing down the barriers, falling faster for him every day.
I know how this story will end, but I canāt stop myself. I donāt care what plans fate has for me.
I want to make Sam mine.
Devoted is a gripping, hurt/comfort, angel x human, MM PNR romance. The second in the Hopeless Blessed series, each book follows a different couple with a guaranteed HEA.
Elf is the second of Rinda Elliottās novels in her Mystic Guardians series and honestly Iām at a loss here with the series. Itās a series that contains a fated mate/soulmates relationship between preternaturals and humans who can see through their glamour because somewhere in their family history is a preternatural connection.
The Guardians, all preternaturals of various species, work for a powerful sorcerer, where they track heinous criminals and solve horrific crimes.
I like the preternaturals. Mostly. Itās an interesting group and the first novel, Basilisk, was very enjoyable. I did note that the human fated mate character there ,Clive, felt under developed, especially with his special needs. Heās barely mentioned here.
That aspect of the series continues here with Ezra Forsberg, the human main character of Elf. While Alaric, the elf who works for ancient sorcerer, Xavier, is well defined in terms of personality, magic and capabilities. His is a layered storyline in a way that cannot be said for Ezra.
Elliottās Ezra has a number of troubling elements in his characterās life and story thatās addressed facetiously, especially for their topic. Ezra has been basically sold off by his crime family to another in marriage and for the past 3 years had been living with a murderous psychopath. Heās just escaped from that marriage prison and falls into immediate danger.
Ezraās answer to extreme violence, trauma, tragedy, everyday betrayal, family emotional abandonment? He either throws up or heās just sad. Heās just not particularly believable as a victim of the types of abuses and inflicted horrors that the author has written for him. Elliott writes that heās been affected but never makes any case for it in the slightest. Ezra as a character and his family or his history with his husband just doesnāt make sense.
Nor does it make sense that itās the boss blurting the sensitive news to Ezra about fated mates instead of Alaric.
This story came very close to a much lower ranking.
If the author was to layer a character with all these aspects to his storyline, then give the narrative ample room to fully explore the necessary details and plot points to make it and him feel believable.
For me, this didnāt happen. Itās the second time the human being got the underdeveloped part of the story and undermines the book.
Alaric Denman is determined not to let himself care for another human, especially not one like Ezra Forsberg. Ezra is a rich playboy without ambition, someone he could never respect. Why heās intensely attracted to the man is beyond his understandingābut he is. So much so, itās affecting his job to protect him.
Ezra isnāt sure whoās trying to kill him, but he has a pretty good idea. After growing up in one crime family and being forced to marry into another, his guess is his ex. He hires a bodyguard and gets a sexy elf. Yeah, he can see past the elfās glamour, despite Alaricās attempt to hide those elegantly pointed ears. But Alaric irks him with his stoic nature and he canāt resist poking at him.
While theyāre busy clashing, a two million dollar price goes out on Ezraās head, which brings out powerful preternaturals. Someone really wants Ezra dead, so itās time they work together to figure out who.
Elf is a MM paranormal romance long novella with a reluctant elf, a snippy-mouthed human, and a soulmate passion that takes them both by surprise. Itās the second in the Mystic Guardians series, but can be read as a stand alone.
This paranormal romance novella is packed full with so many interesting characters and vividly detailed elements that I wish I was a much longer novel. From the location and shop to the multi-dimensional characters, Fox has barely touched on her Texas Magic universe potential.
The second story in this series, itās a fated mate romance between a newly arrived embittered werewolf, Thorin, and a local shopkeeper, a raven shifter named Poe.
The personalities and relationship issues are well defined. As are how Fox has their fated mates chemistry help them work out their problems. Itās sexy, believable and makes them so connectable.
Even the secondary characters are ones Iād like to know more about as well as the intriguing town of Bee Cave with its own magical atmosphere.
Love fated mates? Want a quick wonderful story? Check out Shiny Things (Texas Magic) by Kelly Fox. Highly recommended.
Iāve already had my poor wolf heart broken by one selfish, trinket-hungry avian shifter, and I am never going through that again.
Hell, I moved all the way out to the shifter town of Bee Cave, Texas to start over, soā¦yeah. That adorably twitchy raven shifter at the local coffee shop had better get it through his pretty skull that heās not gonna get one over me.
Even if he is so sparkly and gorgeous, I can barely help myself.
Shiny Things is part of the Texas Magic shifter novella series. This 17k word novella contains reluctant mates, undeniable attraction, and an unhinged crow shifter ex.
Hunters Hollow, a sequel series to Arden Steeleās ongoing terrific Blackhaven Manor paranormal novels, is a successful crossover world. Iām really enjoying this series. I love the way Steele created new engaging characters, while maintaining the many established characters/couples itās brought over from its original series.
These characters, all well defined in terms of personality and history, as well as the shared universe beings that have continued impactful roles to play , like Hades, in the storylines, keep the books intriguing and exciting.
Curses and Casualties, the third book in this series, demonstrates all the best qualities of the two worlds, with the established mythology and a great murder mystery to investigate.
Necromancer Elliot Church has a secret parentage and a familiar, Dax. Itās his father whose request for an investigation brings him first to New Orleans, then to Hunters Hollow.
Itās where he meets his fated mate, Tenn, an incubus and retired bounty hunter for the Ministry. Tenn, now a tattoo artist in Hunters Hollow, and Elliott have a great fated mate moment and start to a developing relationship. I enjoyed that Steele has layers to them. Thereās issues that need to be addressed. Daxā bond and Daxās feelings as part of the dynamic for one. Thatās just the beginning.
The mystery is good although the villain is easily guessed at. Why they are so bad is a better story.
And thereās other scenes and aspects of Curses and Casualties that will just tug at your heart. Especially the ending that added just more things to think about and explore in this expanding universe.
I look forward to the next chapter in this series and couple to get their fated mate HEA.
At least, thatās the way Elliot Church feels. A powerful mage with a gift for necromancy, heās made a name for himself as a successful private investigator. And he fails to see how smiling in front of a camera or answering the same banal questions has any bearing on his performance.
Itās nothing more than a distraction, and one he doesnāt need, especially when strange things start happening in New Orleans.
There are dead Otherlings in the Quarter, their bodies mummified and their souls fragmented. A Reaper stands on every corner, and more are pouring into the city daily, which can only mean one thing. Mass casualties.
When his search for answers leads him to Hunters Hollow, the last thing he expects to find in the backwater town is his mate. Incubus and retired bounty hunter for the Ministry, Lysander TennisonāTenn to the localsāis everything he never knew he wanted, but the timing couldnāt be more wrong. Yet, he can no more turn his back on the demon than he can ignore whatās going on in the city.
Even when every road in front of him leads straight to hell.
Itās always exciting when Shelby Rhodes releases a new book, yet alone one thatās the start of a new series, but A Spark of Something (A Librarian’s Guide to Witchery Book 1) is exactly that.
A new LGBTQIA paranormal romance thriller that has all the elements we hope to see in a Shelby Rhodes novel, it sets the foundation going forward with the characters and world building for the books to come.
Itās horrifying, sexy, otherworldly, humorous, and funny. And leaves plenty of room for exploration and expansion in this series.
It starts with a sweetheart of a person, Oliver āOllieā Cross, who lives above his familyās building, Cross Heritage Private Library. Heās 30, orphaned from a wealthy family, and takes incredible pride and delight in sharing his love of books and the collection with children of his community and his diverse employees. And his irascible black cat, Red.
Who and exactly what Noble Vincent is, the man who enters Ollieās life, is a major storyline and wonāt be spoiled here. This is a two person POV, one of which is Nobleās. Thatās important because of his type of character and history, only an inkling is implied.
Ollieās employees are amazing and that library has wonders yet to come, Iām sure. Itās definitely got ghosts.
I thought it was a little unbalanced in terms of character storytelling at the beginning. But that changed dramatically as the two characters met and their relationship created a new dynamic. And Ollie became aware of the otherworld.
Nobleās element is horrifying and that, honestly, makes his quick relationship with Ollie a bit problematic for me. Rhodes has so many open opportunities for this story to move forward. And itās just beginning to lay out the details of Ollieās history and current situation. Nobles as well. Donāt get me started on Red and that book.
So Iām extremely excited to see where this author goes next. Surprising, terrifying, sexy and amazing. Iām there for it!
Hello there, I donāt think Iāve seen you here before. Well, if you are new, welcome. Iām Oliver āOllieā Cross, owner of the Cross Heritage Private Library, and I have a problem. Several actually. To explain the full weight of my conundrum, I feel I have to put out there that I am skeptical of all paranormal āthingsā, and always have been. Mostly, I just find the supernatural a bunch of nonsense. At leastā¦I didā¦until ghosts started appearingā¦and my cat started talking to me⦠And if that weren’t enough, there is a book that constantly insults me, while claiming that I’m a witch!
So, as you can see, I have quite a conundrum on my hands, in that Iā¦may be losing my ever-loving mind.
On a positive note, for the first time in my life, a man may actually like my tendency to babble, soā¦winning there? But then, Noble Vincent is perfect⦠Mysterious, but perfect. Though my cat doesnāt like him, and my best friend thinks he is hiding something. But if anything that’s happening is realityā¦my cat also lied to me my whole lifeā¦and my best friend usually thinks everyone is hiding something, soā¦opinions rejected!
Anyhoo, things are fine! Iām fine! Whatās a few life altering events, some breakdowns, andā¦multiple people trying to kill meāhah⦠Things will be okay! I hopeā¦
