Good Intentions slides immediately into the moment after Bad Intentions ends, when Gabe hangs up on Marcus.

This is exactly why these novels make fantastic binge reading. Because they really are two halves of a whole story.

Where Bad Intentions was the beginnings of Marcus and Gabe, Good Intentions is precisely that. The place where both men realize how important each is becoming to them and the huge difference each other are making in their emotional lives.

This story is the place for revelations, character growth, and an overall internal examination by both Gabe and Marcus of their present lives, as well as future goals.

That includes if they are willing to take chances with their hearts.

Once again, Ella Frank moves Gabe and Marcus forward, across current obstacles raised by business opportunities, by challenges of borne of personal insecurities and varying relationship goals. Frank does it with intelligent dialogue, believable emotional storylines, humor, and heartwarming romance.

They make mistakes with each other, they acknowledge it, and then work through it in the best way that is suitable to them both. Often accompanied by very hot sex!

Such a terrific couple and two-book series. Just enough to be absolutely enjoyable and thoughtfully romantic.

Gabe and Marcus are surrounded by couples and people who have had

or will have their own series.

It’s a very connected universe. So if you’re intrigued by a couple, check out their stories!

I’m highly recommending Intentions Duo. Read them in the order they were written to grasp the entire story relationship dynamics.

Review: Bad Intentions (Intentions Duet #1) by Ella Frank

I go into writing a review for a Ella Frank2 book series fighting the impulse to combine my reviews for both stories into one. Usually I’ve read both novels, one right after the other. And also because each story is truly one half of the same book.

Good Intentions (Intentions Duet #2) literally starts with Marcus’ perspective on the phone call that Gabe just hung up on at the end of this story.

So the flow is virtually seamless.

Bad Intentions marks the start of the relationship between Gabriel Romero, a soon to be PA at a law firm, and Marcus St. James, President of cable news giant ENN.

It starts off on what was supposed to be a hot encounter at an exclusive work party where Gabe used someone else’s name to get close to a powerful, but hugely gorgeous man he wants to meet.

What could go wrong?

Frank gives us the consequences of that action in such deliciously awkward, yet clever scenes that pack a emotionally powerful punch. It’s full of chemistry, confusion, and the sheer need to keep pursuing the other man. For both Gabe and Marcus.

One of the many elements I enjoyed about this Duet of novels is the surprises the author has in store for both the readers and her character when it comes to the layers she’ll peel back with regard to who these men really are and what they’re looking for in the future.

They are much deeper then they originally appear. I really appreciated that depth of personality.

Another is the age gap. Although there’s a large one as the men are written, the difference in ages isn’t a barrier because it’s a plus as far as Gabe is concerned. And any reference is a playful and interesting one.

The same goes for the notable difference in wealth and achievement. It’s talked about, and instead of a inequality that’s a barrier, Gabe’s looks towards Marcus’s wonderful achievements as goals of his own he also fully intends to realize. A healthy understanding, that includes a great recognition of his own brilliance.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. That’s part of having read both stories.

The story here is their struggles to figure out what they want to be to each other and how that would work given each other’s goals.

All big realistic questions. Especially when both men have little, or in the case of Marcus, no experience being in a relationship.

Ella Frank’s writing is crisp, often humorous, with a clever turn of phrase that had me grinning page after page.

I have such affection for these characters.

They are entertaining and their stories interwoven with those of the couples around them. So you can finish these and then go binge on their series as well.

But first, gather up both Bad Intentions and Good Intentions. Then read them, one right after the other for a marvelously entertaining, and quite lovely romance!

Review: Wicked Flame (Chicago Heat #2) by Ella Frank

Rating: 4.5 🌈

Wicked Flame, the second half of the Chicago Heat series, literally picks up almost a sentence after the end of Wicked Heat. The flow between the two books is close to seamless, making it ideal for a binge read.

As the relationship progresses between Ryan and Jameson, so does the deeply buried emotional issues become even more apparent. Ones Jameson realizes he needs to look at and deal with in order to move forward.

The elements are heavy ones. And Frank takes care when having her characters move through these sensitive areas with realistic feelings and believable behavior. When Jameson finally has that all important discussion with his sister about her addiction, it’s done for the right reasons and at the right time.

And all the scenes with Ryan’s family and the competitive curling? Warm-hearted fun that you could see contributing as a new element in Jameson’s life. Acceptance and joy.

Everything here, emotionally, kept moving the men forward. It’s sexy, wonderful, beautiful, and romantic.

Especially that last scene. Be still my heart!

Treat yourself to a fabulous two book series! Chicago Heat’s Wicked Heat and this, Wicked Flame!

Review: Wicked Heat (Chicago Heat #1) by Ella Frank

Rating: 4.5 🌈

Wicked Heat is the first book of a two story series, Chicago Heat. It’s fantastic and, luckily, with both novels released, the reader is able to read one story after the other as I did.

Combined, they tell the story of the stumbling path to romance, love, and a lasting relationship between PA Ryan Carrigan and troubled CFD firefighter Jameson Clarke.

Both characters are perfectly defined by the author. Ryan by his job as a personal assistant to a popular cable network anchor, his family, and his personality that was formed by his upbringing. We immediately like him, then learn to adore him.

Jameson Clarke’s background is darker, layered in abandonment, drugs, the foster system, and the pain of loss. His is a story that’s slowly revealed as he begins to trust the relationship he’s building with Ryan.

How they meet, how they find each other, and all the many issues that arise between them are humorous, realistic, painful, emotional, and, especially sad when you consider how much gentrification is going on today.

It’s interesting that some of the characters from Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine’s Dare To Try series make appearances here, either by mention or by actually being a part of the story. Nice to see them again.

But the heart here is the developing relationship between Ryan and Jameson. It’s a great beginning. And it ends at midway with so much promise.

So do yourself a favor, pick both up if you love contemporary romances, and read on for the rest of their HEA.

Review: Truth or Dare (Dare To Try #3) by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine

Rating: 4.5🌈

Truth or Dare finishes the Dare To Try trilogy and it’s a wonderful book. Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine have our couple, Kieran and Bash, take a realistic look at their jobs, evaluate what’s truly important to each of them, take into consideration the opportunities for each of them to make the move to each other’s state, and then make a decision that’s right for them both.

How I love an adult story with adult perspectives! No huge drama, just real life issues (even though one here is fabulously wealthy), and typical ways (pro and cons list) to help solve them.

It’s beautifully written, great characters, has a road trip I wish we’d gotten more of and a sexy red hot costume party … fans self.

I love these men and this trilogy will have me seeking out the series from each author that some of the other characters came from. I’m now a big fan of both.

Yes to recommending this trilogy, and yes to the authors!

Dare Me , the second book in the Dare To Try trilogy by

Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine picks up a few weeks after the tumultuous events in the first story, Dare To.

That ended with a miscommunication or perhaps a misunderstanding between Kieran and Bash that sent Bash flying back to his home on South Haven Island, a bridge away from Savannah, Georgia.

Dare Me picks up with Kieran alone in Chicago, devastated by Bash’s departure and unsure of his next step. And with Bash miserable in Georgia, doubting his decisions to leave and missing Kieran like crazy.

Kieran takes the necessary time here to unpack his complicated emotions over everything that’s happened recently. His awakening sexuality in his feelings in all ways for Bash, the misconceptions over a scene in the firehouse, and the fears each is facing over the future.

Then he’s off to confront his man in a wonderful scene in South Haven.

This story is high on love, communication, searing hot sexy scenes, and reconciliation!

There’s not much angst or drama. Instead you get a couple working through very relatable issues in a new relationship, trying to see how how they can mesh their work and romance when they live in two different places.

It all feels real and while they come to a conclusion at the end of the book, the how of it all will spill over to the last novel in the trilogy for a great HEA.

Kieran and Bash are a fantastic engaging couple, sexy and romantic. And the people around them are just as strong as their support.

Love this story. And recommending it!

I’ll confess, I’ve never read either author’s series before or even either author before this book. That’s going to be quickly fixed once this trilogy is done because I’m sold on both this universe and characters the authors have created together and separately.

But first Dare You, the beginning of the Dare To Try trilogy by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. It’s a fantastic story. From the moment we’re dropped into plot, which is a fire in progress and a Engine group racing to the call, it’s all in! The authors have our complete attention, making us totally invested in the events unfolding before us.

The fireman is Kieran Bailey, hardworking lieutenant at Station 73, who’s just rescued a gorgeous woman dressed in red from a penthouse suite in Chicago. Or so he thinks.

Until the ambulance arrives and the she is Sebastian “Bash” Vogel, the extremely wealthy, and magnetic, cross-dressing CEO of AnaVoge, a tech company.

Those aren’t spoilers but facts found in the descriptions. Oh but what follows is beyond words fabulous and downright wonderful.

Because the authors take these men on an emotional journey. For Kieran, he’s always thought of himself as straight. He’s from a family with two gay brothers in committed relationships but for himself? Not really. Until Bash comes into his life and makes him question everything.

Kieran’s emotional and sexual journey is realistic, complete with his doubts about his feelings, flashes of guilt and anger, everything he’s unable to communicate or understand when faced with his attraction for Bash.

It’s not just Kieran, however, who is feeling vulnerable. Bash is also having issues with being attracted to a man who’s always identified as being “straight “. Also the fact that they live in separate states . So many potential barriers.

Dare To sees the men beginning to acknowledge not only the attraction but the fact that there’s something else behind the physical attraction. Something that’s emotionally connecting them.

The writing here is so well done, the characters layered and relatable ( even the bazillionaire) because we see them at their most vulnerable.

The end of the novel finds our men at a crossroads of sorts. A crisis that continues into Dare Me, the second story in the trilogy.

All three books are complete so do what I did. Get them all. Set aside a night. Get yourself settled and enjoy a fabulous time.

I’m highly recommending all three, starting with Dare You (Dare To Try #1) by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine .
