Hades

His innocence was the fire that blighted the deepest dark, but even he can’t save the King from a past stained so black, the devil won’t even touch it.

Years creep up on you, like a rotting hand: cold and wet, it will drag you down into your grave.

Life will hand you eternity only to rip it away from you.

Love will slaughter you in the most beautiful way and still manage to nail you in the ass, bareback, when you see him choose the heart of another man.

But Death… He is a patient soul. He waits, and he waits, and he waits.

‘Cause the bastard knows he will always have the last laugh when he knocks at the door.

Kemono

Memories were all I had, all I had clung to as my heart turned to stone and finally to dust.

Now he is mine and I will hold him, and I will kiss him. We will dance and we will laugh, and we will cry… We will be human together…

I did not know heaven until I knew him.

There is no greater power that can tear and rip your world apart as when their lips finally kiss yours again.

But being human comes at a fatal price.

Sometimes you have to let go of the hand you hold onto so tightly that it brought pain, because that is the only way you can save them from Death.

Rex

Why did she take them away, hand them back, then force me to choose?

Is love really that cruel, that she would enjoy tormenting you as you watch the two men you love with your whole heart, kill each other…?

And then, my worst fear, my deepest darkest nightmare became a living breathing thing.

Death had come to take from us what we could never replace.

I’m not sure what to write in this review and the reason is pretty simple: I loved the story even if I should not have. I was desperately waiting for this new release to come out. I begged for it. And I was satisfied, well until a point, because the author went where he shouldn’t have and he knows it. And I can’t talk about it so I have no clue how to well explain why I have mixed feelings about the story.
Let’s start saying I spent a lot of days on this book, it took me a while to finish it and of course I savoured every single word but I struggled with them too. It wasn’t simple to read, maybe because I felt it more violent, maybe because I’m too used to other themes in my “usual” books, I don’t know. Yes the story is dark but if you already are familiar with the series you know what to expect. Although in this new installment things went ballistic and more than once they were uncomfortable to me.
I loved the structure of the narration,, how the author decided to tell me what was going to happen, I adored how I had time to know the characters better, especially to see Rex alone by himself and then Hades and Kimono together. They were nutcases but they were so deeply connected I couldn’t wait for Rex to be with them and get their HEA.
I can’t say more but if you are reading the series you need KOMAINU now. I’m waiting for more to come and truly hope the author will give me and the characters some deserved peace.
Cover art is dark and menacing.  Exactly what I’ve come to expect.

Excerpt: HADES

It had been no fuckin’ blow to his balls when the thought had clawed within Hades’ head, that if—and that was big fuckin’ if—they would have found their Rex dea—gone… He and Kemono…would have… had something. Wouldn’t be a fuckin’ relationship, Hades didn’t love the fucker, he didn’t believe he could ever love the Jap. But… They would always have a part of Rex within each other. Be there for one another in their own fucked-up way out of mutual respect in memory of their gatito.

But now… Fuck, Hades didn’t want to force his little to choose, and it scared him, ’cause if Rex chose the Jap, there was nothing left to live for. Nothing left to prevent el cucuy from completely consuming the small morsel of Breno el Oscuro that remained.

Nothing.

They couldn’t share Rex, as possessive and aggressive as Hades and Kemono battled for dominance between themselves, it was a thousand times more terminal when it came to Rex.

One of them would have to be the better man…and walk away.

And Hades had already decided for both of them whom it would motherfuckin’ be.

Excerpt: REX

“I could fuck you over this counter,” Haywood brought his face inches from Rex’s own, a glare spitting embers of heat, “right now for this evidence.” Haywood’s hands slammed down on the counter, pinned on either side of Rex’s thighs, the muscles in those arms balled tight with frustration. “One kiss, kid…” Haywood’s hot breath danced against Rex’s skin, making it break out in icy pebbles. “That’s all I ask, all we ever fucking wanted from you since the first time we saw you dancing in Diablo.”

Rex swallowed hard. He could play the game, set the teasing to scorching, but he couldn’t betray his bruised heart.

Instead he turned his head when Haywood came in for the kill.

“Fuck!” the man groaned, heated air flaring along Rex’s neck as he sniffed him instead. Nose and scruff tingled Rex’s skin when Haywood skimmed his lips to Rex’s ear. “Who hurt you, baby?”

“A very, very bad man,” Rex said coldly.

Excerpt: Kemono

He’d never had that, never even touched Rex other than that single instance when he had stroked Rex’s broken lip before the boy had hugged him, stealing a single febrile kiss. A memory so ancient, yet it held the power to hollow-out Kemono’s darkest nightmares and give him an ephemeral glimpse of nirvana. The thought of simply cuddling with the boy made acid guzzle through his veins, he didn’t know how…to hold Rex that close to him.

It was one thing to touch a man, fuck them while you held them down as they withered under you, or have their lips on your cock as you gripped them by the hair using their throat.

It was a ruinous sentiment to touch and hold close, for the first time in your life, the man who owned your heart and soul.

He was too terrified to even speak to him.

Because the words Kemono needed to say would never be enough to apologize, but not saying anything would be worse.

He was a large disturbing man, a strong, brutal monster, whose hands only knew annihilation, afraid to touch an angel, because Rex’s touch would be more fatal to Kemono than any cicatrix he had received.

About the Author

Wulf Francú Godgluck

They come to me in the night, creeping into my head. Their voices are all different, their stories all dissimilar, but they keep saying the same thing…

“Show us, tell us, bring us into your world, and make us known.”

Then I sit and they take over. They tell their tales of love, loss and sinister misfortune. Not all of them get a happy ending, but they are pleased when their part is written.

I sometimes find myself lost in my own mind; a world very similar to our own yet so different. Things don’t go bump in the night— they squeal and crawl under your skin, making you grind your teeth, and making your stomach turn over and putting your nerves on edge. Then there’s the drama. Oh, the drama!

Wulf Francú Godgluck hails from South Africa. His work is not for the faint-hearted! In his books you’ll find… all the beasties with their nasty claws and teeth, and some you didn’t even know existed.

But the monsters aren’t all real.

Some live inside us. Who knows what he will make you discover about yourself, lurking in your heart, behind the closed walls in the deep, black recesses where no light penetrates?

Wulf will steal your heart and never give it back. More than likely, he’ll pin it to the wall with a bobbypin and sit there sipping his tea while you writhe and squeal on the floor…

A Stella Review: Neon White Episode 5 by Wulf Francu Godgluck

Standard

Rating:  5 out of 5 stars   ★★★★★

Neon White 5To gain something substantial, you need to sacrifice something of equal worth.”

As Bla’Gar rushes to save his beloved pet, the possibility of a grim future might be waiting for him. Will he be forced to repeat the mistakes of the past…again, or will he be allowed to make another choice… Exchange one eternity for another Hell?

Jessy can’t foresee a world without Raven. In a time when enforcers like him are the very fibers that hold together the future of this new world, she will do everything in her power to help save him. But there will be a cost… There is always a cost.

As Seth struggles within his own personal Hades, the mate he always wanted, but felt he never truly deserves, comes to save him. But the darkness is vacuous and beautiful at the same time, and it might just be the end of all of them… If the Beast doesn’t get what he came for.

Raven is lost to all now, fading out of existence, yet Death may be his only salvation.

Some actions speak louder than words, and some will be immortalized forever. Some wars are never won, they are simply…forgotten.

What if you had one chance? One opportunity to change the past? What would you be willing to sacrifice for it?

I can think of one word for this season finale: unexpected. Of course I should have known better and don’t be surprised, cause the author is one of the few able to make me love stories so dark and full of twist. Stories I would have never enjoyed if he didn’t write characters who are impossible to not like.

As I already said in the reviews of  the A Tooth Claw and Horns Chronicle series, the series is not for everyone, it’s violent and often too hard to take. Plus it needs to be read in order, so if you haven’t done yet, pick the first one, it’s still free.

Back to Neon White Episode 5, I have to admit I divoured this book in a couple of hours and I had to start it again the day after, cause I was so overwhelmed by everything happened, I was a little confused and wanted to give it a second try. And it was better then the first time.

I really don’t feel to talk about the plot cause I don’t want to spoil a series so rich in characters, events and unbelievable endings. And in my opinion the book ended in the perfect way ever because it gave the series a very deserved closure, exactly where everything started, back at the origins with my loved Raven and Chetlér. I was on the edge through all the book and the ending was balm for my soul. At the same time it saddened me, knowing I won’t meet them again but the author left open so many routes to follow in a coming (soon I hope) new season. I can’t wait for more.

I want to highly recommend the whole series, if you’re looking for something different, quick and startling you want to read Neon White Episodes by Wulf Francu Godgluck. To me it was a huge success. Really well done, Wulf!

A Stella Review: Neon White E4 (A Tooth Claw and Horns Chronicle #4) by Wulf Francu Godgluck

Standard

RATING  5 out of 5 stars             ★★★★★

Neon White Episode 4Is the path to vengeance truly worth the secrets it will reveal? Everyone is seeking answers and, more importantly, retribution for those responsible.

Raven’s life is dangling between fine lines. Being forced to face his own demon, one he never knew existed, is proving more deadly than anyone could have predicted.

Jessy works against the clock to keep Raven’s condition hidden from the Caption, but when an acquaintance pays the precinct a visit, she finds time has run out. It’s a man both she and Landon had hoped never to lay eyes on again.

Meanwhile, Bla’Gar seeks out an old friend in hopes of gaining answers to help Raven, wondering if  she might leave a very nasty bite of her own instead.

And Niko reflects on his past, that has brought him to the present; one he could never have foreseen.

Some truths are better left unsaid; others…might be too painful to face.

Some warnings before I give you my thoughts on Neon White Episode 4 by Wulf Francu Godgluck.

First of all, if you haven’t read the series or even the last episode, and you are planning to do it, don’t read this review, it will spoil your reading.

Please be aware the A Tooth Claw and Horns Chronicles series is not for everyone. As I had already said in the reviews of the previous episodes, it’s very dark, violent, hard to understand and complicated. If you are not comfortable with these triggers, don’t buy it. BUT the first book is still free, so if you want,  you can give the series a chance and not make your wallet cry.

This 4th episode seemed to me more complex and full than the previous ones. There is a lot going on, not just in the MCs couple but in the secondary characters too.

Detective Raven is been bitten at the end of episode 3, he has no sire, he is not a human anymore, but a vampire, not a normal one because he burns in the moonlight and not sunlight. Bla’Gar has no idea how to help Raven, he tried everything he knew but nothing worked. He should have killed Raven since his first drink of demon blood, but he couldn’t. He needs to save his Raven before he loses him to the darker nature that will just kill him.

Raven’s point of view broke my heart, I could read his thoughts and see him suffering through a deep agony. He can’t fight it, he’s struggling through two parts of himself, where the Strigoi virus is feeding the darker part. The dualism in Raven is hard to witness till the the ending, unexpected.

This is not only Raven and Bla’Gar’s story, here you can find out how Nick and Bruce met, and  let me tell you, in so much darkness, their scenes were so welcome. Plus there’s still the mystery of the disappearance of Seth, the alpha of Bla’Gar’s Lycan clan, to solve (we get just a glimpse of him and I can’t wait to know more). Then we know a little more of what it is going on into Jessy’s life too.

Just a note on the writing, there are multiple PoVs, a lot, and I’m not a fan of them, but in this case they aren’t  a negative choice because they worked perfectly and were necessary for a plot like this.

The next episode will be the season finale, I can’t wait for it to come out and I really hope the evil author will give a HEA to these troubled characters.

******WARNING*******
This is not a story about a hero, or some bad boy-badass-antihero.
This is a love story between two monstrous villains and one valiant kid, held together by their entwined heartstrings.
It won’t be pretty.
It won’t be pleasant.
There’s no fluffy good feelings about it.
It will rip out your heart and never give it back.

Breno Hades el Oscuro took no bullshit from anyone. He ruled the crime world of the United States. When the King fell, what was left in the ashes was not the small boy that grew up without his father, not the same kid that chose a life of crime at seventeen, nor was it the King who had killed and clawed through a river of blood to stand at the top.

The King was dragged from his throne of bones into a deep dark pit, leaving only the raw flesh of a savage monster to crawl out of Hell.
One that knew love, but didn’t want it again.

Kemono Orochi was destined to inherit the legacy of his father, known as The Dragon’s Tongue. It was an inheritance he never wanted it, never desiring the power that came with the title of Dragon. Kemono ended it all by tearing off the Dragon’s head, watching the serpent’s remains be consumed in hellfire. Now tormented by the scars of his past inflicted by his father, he is struggling to come to terms with the Akuma he has become.

One that wants to devour everyone in his path to protect the only one that matters to him.

The only person that had ever made his icy heart beat.

His heart. His love. His beautiful pride.

Rex Hunter dreams of becoming a principal ballerino…all fierce, like a Phoenix. But this Phoenix has lost his wings and fallen prey, straight into the clutched claws and callus hands of two vicious beasts. Each bore the blackest of hearts, each desiring to keep him safe, cherished and loved unconditionally. Or was Rex just destined to be the goo that would stick two shattered souls together and prevent them from forever falling to pieces?

There will be blood, gore and nasty shit.

There will be watersports, crude, angry, sometimes sensual and other times just downright dirty and dysfunctional sex.

BUT…

There will always be LOVE…

Because even villains understand the tortured scars love leaves in her wake.

Excerpt

He knew Wendigo wouldn’t follow him into this place. Any club, lounge, brothel that even hinted at the use of whips and chains freaked the pup out. Wendigo wasn’t weak. What irked Hades was that this shit still had a grip over Wendigo’s life. That he’d never had a childhood, he never once knew what it was to be a kid, to be happy. It tore at Hades to still see that shit haunt Wendigo’s eyes. And the brother did deserve some happiness. But he would never get it as long as he held on to the past.

He looked up at the sight in front of him. The upgrade had sure been worth it. Max had long talked about giving the VIPs their own private lobby. Before, they’d had a separate entrance via a short hall leading straight into the White Room. Now it held one as large as the main entrance. Hades moved past the black marble counter and stepped into the White Room.

He peered around, the fireplaces were unlit, but the antique ceramic stoves were already going. The light was set too brightly, bouncing off all the white in the room. And Dios, his dick went hard behind his leathers ’cause that thought sent images jumping into his head of a little fire kitten sprawled out naked on the plush carpet in front of one of those fires. Light dappling over the pale flesh of Rex’s body while Hades explored—each and every cut, mold and curve the boy’s muscles made—with his fingers.

Dios, he needed to get a fireplace installed. Hades closed his eyes and clenched his fists, vibrating as the growl trembled his chest.

Don’t motherfuckin’ make plans for a future you know for fuck will never fuckin’ be. He shouldn’t be touching Rex, tasting him, not again. He knew he should walk away ’cause he would make that kid break and that Hades didn’t want to do. But hell, fuck, couldn’t he at least allow himself some happiness before he went?

BUT…

There will always be LOVE…

Because even villains understand the tortured scars love leaves in its wake.

Let’s start this review saying I loved the book a lot and when I finished reading it, I hated the author a lot. As an after thought I should have seen it coming but in my defence I was so enrolled in the story, I was blind to little details I should have been more careful with. Nonetheless in the following days when I was finally able to let the anger go, I realized that maybe it was the right choice and it is one of my favorite books I’ve read lately.

I’m honestly not sure what to write in this review because I don’t want to spoil the story. If you’re a fan of Wulf’s work, you know he is very good at surprising us with unexpected characters and developments, so just two words, be ready. I wasn’t.

Of Gods and Monsters: Hades is a story about betrayal, about second chances at love, enemies to lovers, about a monster with a cold heart that can maybe still beat for someone. It’s about a beautiful young man and the need to be human again. It’s the story of three lives, interwoven in times and fate.

The story of Hades takes place four years after Menoetius. In these four years, Hades has found and let go of who could have been the love of his life, he was betrayed by a brother and forced to live in a prison fighting ring.

Four years has passed from the day Rex has left Japan and the place that was his home and life for twelve years, where he kissed Kemono, the young man he watched become a cold hearted killer. The day he was escorted to the airport and put on a plane to the States. With his cat, Bacon, he’s now living under the Dragon’s Tongue “care”, a powerful criminal organization.

And four years ago, Kemono has killed the one who kept him away from Rex and turned him into a monster, the new dragon.

After four year spent in hell, Hades comes back to his apartment and find it occupied by a little ginger, Rex. And of course he needs to scare the young man to death. First impressions matter.

There is a lot going on this book, there are quite some second characters to keep track of, but it’s never chaotic because every new event, every new person is welcomed and fully explained.

The characters in this story are not easy, all of them have really heavy baggages on their shoulders (no one excluded), all of them are fucked up in different ways. I love knowing there are more books planned and that I’m going to meet them again and follow them in their journey to the love land. Cause they are all getting their HEA.

The story is a continuous story of messy, hard scenes. Not for everyone. It’s on the line of Menoetius but different and in my opinion so much better.

There are some things I’m very strict about in my MM books and they are often have been a deal breaker to me, this second installment has a couple of them, but I didn’t care. As I already said, the story took me completely, I couldn’t put it down for a moment. My opinion on the author is the same, he’s amazingly talented.

I can’t wait for the next one. I want to know more about Richard (and James I hope), but it seems that Monroe, a NYPD chief, has just fallen in love with someone.

Cover Art by Wulf Francú Godgluck. It’s well done and fitting, I can totally see Hades in it. And I like the black and the red together.

A Stella Review:Of Gods and Monsters: Menoetius (Of Gods and Monsters #1) by Wulf Francu Godgluck

Standard

RATING 5 out of 5 stars              ★★★★★

Menoetius coverGo ahead…hate me.
Slaughter me against the wall.
I never introduced myself as the goddamn hero. Even labeling me a pussy bad boy.

I’m an imperious villain! A tyrant cut from the bone of the worst kind of monster.

This is my story and I won’t change it for anyone in the world, but…

For him? The one who calls me Master… This is no forever fairy tale romance. This is RAW. This is ripping your heart out and trampling it till there’s nothing left but an angry bloody messRAW.
He was the one who saw through my cracks, who would suffer my pain, blood and tears, working to mend those still bleeding wounds on my soul.
He stood through my violent storm, hiding the battle raging inside him, one I was too stupid to see, that was tearing apart the only man I would ever love.
It took almost losing him to see that, to understand, to comprehend what he truly was to me.

Mine.

My precious boy.

My beautiful Beo.

Dear Author,
He calls me “Master”, but I’m the one who’s really a slave to his heart. I’m supposed to be strong, but I feel so weak every time I think about how we almost didn’t have this… how close I came to losing him… my precious boy.

Photo Description:
The photo shows a young man with thick, dark hair pinned on a bed, hands clasped above his head by the man on top of him. The other man’s circumcised cock is on offer, barely touching the young man’s nose. The young man’s tongue is placed directly against the other man’s cock. There is a power exchange but also something else. The man beneath him is daring, teasing his cock— but look closer. Their hands tell an entirely different story. Their fingers are knotted together in a connection deep, powerful and strong. There is love here, with a passion and a playfulness that can only be understood between them.
This is their story.

The M/M Romance Group strongly recommends that each reader review the General Information section before each story for story tags as well as for content warnings.

I’m writing this review when I just finished re reading the story between Colt and Beo in preparation for the second book in the Of Gods and Monsters series about Hades. I read Moenetius as soon as it was released as part of the Don’t Read in the Closet event in the MM group on  goodreads last years and this second time I loved it more and I couldn’t not change my rating to 5 stars. This is a very intense story, well written and engaging from the first words.

Colt is a wealthy bastard dom, involved in some important criminal activities. One day he meets and falls in love with Beo, the sweet sub who is going through so much in his life. They both are afraid to be together, especially Colt, cause he knows he doesn’t deserve someone like Beo. He isn’t very likeable at first but I loved how Colt became a weak man, as he said at the start, when he met Beo, how he became a better man during the book. I’m a romantic I know, but I love the idea that love can make us better.

I cried a little reading this book, some scenes in the hospital were very emotional to me.  Don’t think for a moment this is the usual BDSM story because you will be wrong, this is a great story with different layers to discover, each of them will bring you to feel various emotions. Love, hate, friendship, loyalty and so much more. There are wrong things and the perfect ones.

There is an interesting second characters cast that I can’t wait to know more about. And if you have already read this book and loved it, just start the second one now. You won’t be disappointed.

One last thing I want to add is about the writing. I particularly like Wulf’s style because, even if its too strong (and a little vulgar sometimes), its is true, simple and immediate. Every time I found myself in beautiful worlds, realistic and unrealistic, but always amazingly done.

Thanks Wulf for writing Colt and Beo’s story, thanks for making me feel every emotion he wrote about.

The COVER ART by Wulf Fracu Godgluck is what caught my attention at first and for once I’m so happy to be a coverwhore, it made me discover a new to me author that soon became one of my favorite ones.

A Stella Review: ACID by Wulf Francu Godgluck & S. van Rooyen

Standard

RATING 4,5 stars out of 5
(4 stars for the story and 5 for the cover, too beautiful to ignore!)
ACID cover

Dear Author,
This is obviously a real tough guy – he likes his guns, booze and cigarettes. His new robo arms are pretty damn awesome, even if the story of how he lost his normal arms isn’t pretty and it took a long time to get used to the new ones. He’s a man of action, not words, and you’ll never hear him spout sappy declarations of endless love. The love of his life clearly needs to be just as tough to keep up with him.

Basically, I want a story with this tough guy and his equally tough love interest(s). Romance shouldn’t be the main focus of this story, I want a kick-ass plot with at least a bit of world building, please! Established couple or not, ménage or not and the genre is up to you. Kinky sex would be a huge plus, but only if you can work it into the plot. I’m fine with whatever ending works for the story, I don’t need a HEA. Every shade of consent is fine by me. Kink-wise I’m pretty much open to anything, even extreme stuff like med-kink and sounding.

Photo Description (see it here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/17401437-acid-by-wulf-franc-godgluck-s-van-rooyen-8-31):

A man with bionic mechanical arms sits in a dusky room holding a cigarette between his robotic fingers. A shot glass with amber liquid in his right hand. Faded scars and wounds cover his collar bone and abdomen; he stares at nothing, obviously bored with the world he lives in.

“So, let’s get some shit cleared and out of the way. There aren’t many rules… but these are mine.
The first rule of ACID City: Avoid. Do not get involved in other people’s shit. People will fuck you over, in any way they can. And enjoy it.
Two: Lie. Everyone lies. There has not been hard, honest truth in this world for God knows how long. Except for one…
Three: Fake it. No one is who they seem— not even ourselves. Your heart will fuck you over. Your feelings are a bunch of shit made up to make you believe you once were human… but there might as well not be any more humans left. The ones that are… just don’t have the humanity to give a shit.
I broke every one of my own rules.
And I hate him for it.”

Please read the warnings because they are there for a reason, ACID is not for everyone so if you are not comfortable with dark books, don’t even think about reading this one.

This is not a nice story, you can’t sympathize with any one character. It is really violent, not just in the death scenes, too many times it was very disgusting.

The book is set in the ACID city, a dark place with no natural light, lived in by criminals and the altered (a new species created in laboratories where human DNA is been mixed with animal ones), there are no laws to obey, just stronger (or sicker) men to follow.

The Dark Heart Cartel is run by Vex Noux, a cryo-ibernated man with mechanical arms who woke up seven hundred years after his death and his life was nowhere to be found. He was married with Johan and had a son, Danny, who was only four when Vex had to leave to join the war, where four months later he died on the battlefield. He’s not a nice guy so don’t let you be moved by his story. There is not one drop of good feelings in it.

There are a lot of characters in ACID, like the gungers, the city enemies and slave traders or Jozi whose parents had been killed when they couldn’t afford the rent anymore and now he’s looking for revenge. But you are going to meet more, all of them well defined. As in the world development, amazing and so well done. Nothing is said in a general way, every little detail is well explained. It’s a complex world and it could have been difficult to follow it but the authors did  clear work, so there was no confusion for me.

Some parts are really hard to take, too strong even if you are used to reading dark stories. I overlooked them because I knew what I was getting myself into. Still, even if I shouldn’t have been surprised since I know Wulf’s mind , this is a scary place, ACID did surprise me. It’s a book full of hate, betrayal, f***ed up beings and things. They gave me chills more than once and the authors went often where they shouldn’t have gone. And of course I can’t talk about the ending but be ready for a big cliffhanger, something I was expecting from the start of the second half of the book. I have no clue who got the idea, I don’t know S. van Rooyen but I know Wulf and I was sure he would have created something twisted and cruel like that ending.

I still can’t believe it I liked this really sick (please let me use the adjective) story, but I couldn’t put it down for a minute, it was addictive, no other word can describe what I felt. Just a suggestion, if you’ll decide to give ACID a chance: don’t read it while having dinner as I did. Bad mistake!

Cover art by Wulf Francu Godgluck. I LOVE this cover so much! The lines, the front, the colors, everything is perfect. 5+ stars!

I am an enthusiastic member of the M/M Romance group on Goodreads. If you are too, you know their moderators work really hard every year to host an event that includes a collection of free M/M short stories, novellas and novels written by authors/members of it. Being in love with the group and the M/M world, I try to read most of these stories each time. Last year one I picked was Of Gods and Monsters: Menoetius by a new to me author called Wulf Francu Godgluck (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23110843-of-gods-and-monsters?ac=1) and it pretty much was love at first reading.

I admit he writes what I usually don’t read; in general I need my books to be sickening sweet and pure romance and it’s totally not Wulf’s style. Still I loved his stories (and I like adding a big FOR NOW cause I’m pretty sure I’m going to kill him about his WIP works LOL). Okay the language is really not so clean, in some parts a little much too hard, a little much too dirty, I can understand it’s not for everyone but I’m all for it.

Of Gods and Monsters: Menoetius is the story of Colt and Beo. Apart from the plot that pushes a lot of buttons (BDSM, alpha man, sweet sub), what caught me from the start was the writing and the fact that it was able to make me emotional, not easy because of the asshole MC. But the thing that wins me over was the idea that love can make us better. Seeing Colt change himself into a better man was really beautiful. I’m pretty sure this story could be perfect for anyone who wants to dive into Wulf’s crazy world for the first time. And it’s free. Be ready for the next installment in the Of Gods And Monsters series, Hades, coming in July 2015. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a M/M/M or a love triangle story but I can’t wait!

Then if you are looking for something really different, you absolutely need to try the A Tooth Claw and Horns Chronicle series. It’s made of short episodes and I can tell you each one will leave you hungry for more and angry at Wulf, but the pain is so worth it. This series is dark, mysterious and well balanced, there is a solid plot and well defined characters (surprisingly, see the few pages each episode has). Most of all it’s original. I can anticipate the next episode will be so much more in every way, taboos and cliffhanger are assured. Stay tuned for late summer.

As I hope you understood reading my thoughts, Wulf Francu Godgluck has a crazy world in his mind, he spaces from contemporary to paranormal, from BDSM to vampires. Last one he worked on was a sci fi story called ACID for the new M/M romance group’s event. I read some sneak peaks (here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2232381-dear-author-free-dreamer—claimed-by-wulf-francu-godgluck?page=1) and I’m really curious. It is unique and darker but so unbelievably interesting.

Last thing. If you are going to check out these books be aware that the cover artist is the same Wulf and I find them different from the usual ones I see everywhere and perfect for his writing style. I can’t recommend this author enough.

About author Wulf Francu Godgluck

They come to me in the night, creeping into my head. Their voices are all different, their stories all dissimilar, but they keep saying the same thing…

“Show us, tell us to the world. Bring us into yours, and make us known.”

Then I sit and they take over. They tell their tales of love, loss and sinister misfortune, not all of them get a happy ending, but they are pleased when their part is written.

I sometimes find myself lost in my own mind; a world very similar to our own yet so different. Things don’t go bump in the night—they squeal, and crawl under your skin, making you grind your teeth, and your stomach turn over and put your nerves on edge. Then there’s the drama. Oh, the drama!

I write because I must! There is so much inside of me that needs to get out. So many stories to tell, characters that want to be heard, and hearts lost and won. Words and art are my way of bringing my world to others. I enjoy telling tales of the human condition but working in elements of the supernatural. Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, Witches and the unexplainable all set against the human world or worlds of their own.

I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, grew up in a working class family and enjoy writing, cooking and spending my husband’s money! Yeah I’m a cocky little brat too 🙂 (and proud of it, spankings included.)

A SNIPPET FROM Of Gods and Monsters: Hades

COMING ON JULY 2015

It was the day Kemono returned from a five week mission in Russia that his father tested him. Twenty years of age when he stood before the snake. Kemono’s only friend, Mamoru, stood beside him, their gaze trained on the wall.
His father ordered him to kill Mamoru.

Blood had still dripped from his trembling hands while his father smiled, bitter pride in his eyes. “There’s the monster I spawned.” Kemono just stood, jaw ticking, locked tight, and balled his fists. Mamoru’s blood sticky and still warm as it pussed from between his fingers. His friend lying next to him, choking as gore pooled from his throat where Kemono had sliced it.

Kemono stood there feeling nothing. Nothing for his friend of fifteen years, a man and boy he had been intimate with on far too many nights, a friend he knew was in love with him. Nothing when Mamoru’s body was dragged out of the room to be disposed of. Nothing for the mother and sister left without a son and a brother to provide for them. Nothing, knowing they would starve. Nothing. He had felt it for so long now.

Only when he walked out of the washitsu, stepped down the hall to wash his hands and come back out, did he feel something.

Anger. Pain. Worry. Fury.

He flared his nostrils, squinting his eyes. Tremors ringing up his body, his muscles pulsing, going taut at the same time.

His frame vibrated violently in rage.

His Shuiro’s soft sobs was a hand against his throat choking him, slowly ripping him apart inside. The boy rested against one of the pillars, his back damp as the material stuck to his bony skin. Kemono had looked at the sky briefly, noting the sun’s position, confirming the time of day, late afternoon as sunlight played, making the blue sky sing with purple, pinks and shades of gold. It was usually around this time his Shuiro came from training with his sensei, a kind man, but he was known for pushing his students hard.

But it was the slump to his Shuiro’s shoulders that was unpleasing to Kemono’s sight.

His heart had clenched, pain shooting in his chest when his Shuiro collapsed against the pillar, sliding against it to the floor. The boy’s chest heaving, lips parted and eyes closed.

Kemono hated to see the boy and not be able to see those dancing eyes.

He stomped towards him, furious that his steps didn’t invoke the reaction he wanted.

His Shuiro should have been up, alert with his gaze down to the floor, pressing himself against the pillar to appear smaller than he was, to somehow make his presence disappear. Rex always did that when he and Kemono’s paths crossed in the temple. It was that form of submissioned respect he cherished in the boy. The shyness and innocent the boy possessed that had speared and claimed Kemono’s heart.

He knelt before his Shuiro, his hands numb, not knowing what to do with them.

“Kemono-san,” his Shuiro had whimpered. It was the second word he had spoken to Kemono, and the first time the boy had said his name. His venomous name, coming from innocent lips. Not just Kemono, but Kemono-san. It did things inside, ruptures and tears and rips and—

Warm clammy hands had touched his cheeks. He snapped his gaze to his Shuiro’s, and the boy smiled, a smile that didn’t melt the ice around Kemono’s dead heart, but seared it into vapors of steam. His heart pounded hard against his ribs. Loud in his ears. It hurt inside. Raw. Bleeding. It had hurt so very much.

His fingers had shook as he inspected the cut on his boy’s bottom lip, gently brushing his thumb over the bloodied bruise. Small arms were wrapped around his neck, a wet cheek pressed against his hairy chest in the gap of his yukata while weak words spilled from his Shuiro’s lips.

“I missed you.”

Kemono just breathed, sucked in the smell of his Shuiro while his heart was bleeding, screaming, crying. The embrace was too much, the words a brutal scar to his heart.

Soft lips pressing against his.

And Kemono trembled.

He quaked.

His big hands on the boy’s small shoulder holding him painfully tight, and he knew it was wrong, volitional and blasphemous, destroying innocence like this, but it was the first human touch he had ever been given.

Kemono had opened for him, allowed his Shuiro to taste him. And Kemono had tasted back. He kissed him so hard that he tasted his Shuiro’s life. He savored that purity, the freedom to cry, to laugh, to stumble and fall, to be weak…to be human.

He carved that into his very soul, his very heart and, in that kiss, he willed a silent promise: Someday I will take care of you, my innocent Shuiro.

The slam of a cane against wood floors had made Kemono roar into those soft lips, sending his sutoroberī to scurry away from him.

His father had found them.

A Stella Review: Neon White E3 (A Tooth Claw and Horns Chronicle #3) by Wulf Francu Godgluck

Standard

Rating: 4,75 stars out of 5.

(Note:I subtracted 0,25 from the full 5 stars cause in the book there is an het sex scene too detailed for my taste)

Neon White 3 coverThis is going to be a bloody shit day.
The Alpha is missing, for one thing. Raven’s partner Jessy is still struggling to deal with his death. Finding out that his body is missing from the morgue is a big enough shock, so what happens next is going to be unbelievable…
Especially for Raven

This review contain spoilers on the Episode 2, so if you still haven’t read the previous books and don’t want spoilers, please don’t read this review. Still, you can go straight and buy this series, you don’t regret it.

In Episode 2 we left Raven and Bla’Gar at the Winter Ball, finally hoping for a future together. Bla’Gar tells our sweet Enforcer that he fell in love with him since the first time they met. Raven is still recovering from the incident with the hound in his parents’ home, an incident maybe not so casual, that left him probably destined to a desk job.

Raven and Bla’Gar parted ways because the demon is called by his pack. Once alone, Raven is assaulted and bitten by a vampire. Jessy, Rave’s partner, is the one to find him after the vampire’s attack. Jess is convinced that the responsible of Rave’s death is Bla’Gar, so she goes to him, but he has no idea his lover is dead and he can’t believe it, he needs proves. When Jess takes the demon to the morgue where Rave’s body is, they will find no one.
Where is Raven? He was murdered so he’s dead, right?

Everything we knew about the characters we learned to love changes again in this new chapter. This new episode was simply fantastic. Apart from the main story with Rave and Bla’Gar as MCs, we have two more stories that will catch your attention and will make you hungry for more.

More or less the first part is focused on Bla’Gar dealing with the kidnapping of Seth, the Alpha of the lycan pack, who just mated with Lucas. We learn more about the lycan pack and his dynamics, and most of all we’ll learn more about Seth’s life, which I suspect (and I hope) will be really important in the next book.

Another part shows us the new relationship between Jess and his mysterious boyfriend James. I say mysterious cause of course you can’t expect him to be human.

As I already said in the other reviews, being so short, I didn’t think to read a series with so well developed second characters, but I was wrong. Especially in this new instalment I learnt a lot about them and I met some new characters.
Loved it! All the way through the story the details are so perfect and brilliant and every new word was full of tension.

Highly recommended!

Cover art by Wulf Francu Godgluck. The covers of the three episodes are pretty much the same with just some little details that fit that episode completely. You’ll understand and realize it if you’ll decide to read the series. Well done Wulf!
