Meet the Author

When I’m not writing I like going to concerts. Music is a big part of my life, I’ve played bass guitar since I was a teen. I love nature and enjoy hiking and working with causes that help protect our planet and wild animals.

I have loved books all of my life and have always enjoyed escaping the ordinary world by getting lost in a good book. I read a lot of different genres of books but have fallen in love with MM. I support the gay community and hope one day people will see that love is love and that it is a beautiful thing no matter your gender, race or religion. Joshua and his story have been in my head for years but I never took the time to write it.

With encouragement from some fellow authors and friends I took the leap and now all of you can get to know my characters and I hope you love them as much as I do.

“Where exactly are you going? Would you at least tell me that?”

“A town nobody’s heard of about thirty-five miles from home.” If Sawyer needed to hide, he’d find a similar out of the way spot. Too bad this particular spot sat on the border between elk and predator. Just because they lived off vegetation didn’t mean his rivals weren’t a threat—an expert marksman had joined the herd a few years ago. He’d been tough and stringy, but ceased being a problem.

Conversation grew impossible when Sawyer fired up his bike. Mother Moon, but he loved the rumble of the big Harley between his thighs, the wind on his face, tempting his sensitive nose with a million different scents: moss, pines, rabbit, clover, chicken barbequing on a grill at a campsite downhill, all awaiting him once he reached his mountain.

Fluffy clouds overhead cast shadows over the scenery, and the crisp scent of snow drifted over the highest mountaintops. Colorado. No greater place existed on earth.

Occasionally he caught a whiff of human emotions: anger, fear, sorrow, lust. Especially lust.

Damn, he needed to get laid.

Meet the Author

You will know Eden Winters by her distinctive white plumage and exuberant cry of “Hey, y’all!” in a Southern US drawl so thick it renders even the simplest of words unrecognizable. Watch out, she hugs!

Driven by insatiable curiosity, she possibly holds the world’s record for curriculum changes to the point that she’s never quite earned a degree but is a force to be reckoned with at Trivial Pursuit.

She’s trudged down hallways with police detectives, learned to disarm knife-wielding bad guys, and witnessed the correct way to blow doors off buildings. Josh has always considered himself straight—except for that one time in college—so when he and Alex are living in such close proximity on the road, he’s unsure what these new feelings mean. Is it because they’re spending 24/7 together, or is it something deeper? And does it really matter since Josh has only ever seen Alex with women?

While in Oregon, Josh meets Johnno, a sexy but confusing Aussie surfer. While having an impromptu surfing lesson, Johnno helps Josh realize who he is and what he wants—but Alex’s reaction leaves Josh confused.

Bored is not even the word to describe how I felt by this story. I didn’t connect one time to these characters. For me it was no highs or lows, just straight line from beginning to end. Neither character made an impact on me in the story. I just felt like a passenger on a road trip around the country with them. Actually these two felt like brothers to me. I didn’t get the friends to lover’s vibe at all. If anything; they’ve claimed to be friends as long as they have then this situation should have happened differently. It just seems like it just happened.

I didn’t buy Josh’s come to Jesus moment about his sexuality. Not if he claimed to be this “big man towards the ladies”. I’m not a gay man, so I’m unsure if it happens like this, but his coming to terms with his sexuality felt unbelievable. I would be okay if he never questioned it if we had some sort of past on his liking guys. It seemed sporadic at best. I don’t buy into Alex’s character as well. He had this hot/cold demeanor that had me questioning who was the true him. Other issues were their physical descriptions that seemed so similar as we can see from the cover. Besides the height issue, and the less blonde hair again I felt like I was reading about two brothers. It never gained momentum to me. I felt like the pacing was stagnant throughout the story. Some of the plot seemed random. A couple of the issues in the story I felt like it could have made some ground but it needed to be acted on.

All in all, this was a complete miss for me. I really do like the author’s previous work so I’d definitely read more from her, I just did not care for this one.

Cover Art by Meredith Russell. I’m not really enjoying the cover. For me their was no physical differences in the guys so it seems like to bros hanging out to me.
